My husband and I spent 4 nights here in October. Wine on the terrace was such a perk after a day of hiking. The rooms are clean and have every thing you need. Lorenzo has great advice on restaurants and hiking options. The stairs were not hard, there are just a lot of them, but it's worth the view.

We stayed here for 4 nights before heading to Rome on our very first trip to Europe. Monterosso is a beautiful little place. Please keep in mind if you arrive during the 'Off' season into Cinque Terre, as a lot of the little stores are not open. During this time Manuel's do not offer breakfast due to the local bakery... BEST value BEST view BEST service BEST fruit plate In all of italy!! What can I say about Manuels that hasn't already been said. Book here now if you're planning a trip to Cinque Terre, it fills up fast. It's been a couple months since our visit but we are still saying Prego!

Whoever said there was only 125 steps to the Guest House doesn't count well :) It's a long way up but worth the walk. The view is spectacular and the service was exceptional (especially when he offered to take my suitcase up). There is no easy place to park so you have to hike with suitcase in hand thru the... We stayed here for 4 nights in Oct 2014 and we had a wonderful stay. Lorenzo and Manuel are great hosts, very friendly and willing to help out. The location is above the town, up quite a few steps. However, the steps are not as bad as some people might think. Sure it is hard taking your luggage up, but... More

My wife and I stayed at Manuel's Guest House in mid October, 2014. It was exactly what we expected: quaint, private, clean, welcoming, and wonderful views. We were greeted each morning and afternoon by the hosts (Owners) with a suburb breakfast (included) and local spirits in the afternoon/early evening. Relaxing and understated, Manuel's guest house allows you to feel, if... More

My husband and I visited Italy and the Cinqueterre in September of 2014 for our first trip to Europe in celebration of our 10-year anniversary. We had only 10 days in Italy and chose to book our longest stay, 3 nights, in Monterosso at Manuel's Guest House and we are SO glad we did! We loved our room, the view... More

We also were met by Manuel in the square who told us he is now retired and his brother Giovanni and his son Lorenzo were running the guest house. He quickly call Lorenzo who came down and carried our largest bags up the 150 steep and narrow stairs. After 4 nights I was actually getting use to the stairs. Giovanni... More

We chose Manuel's Guest House based on all the positive reviews. We were very happy that we did. The many stairs just didn't seem that bad, and it was well worth the climb. The room was immaculate and quiet, the terrace view was wonderful and the hospitality was exceptional. Lorenzo and Giovanni were very kind and helpful. Highly recommend!

Arriving in Monterosso we were greated by a gentleman asking where we were going. We replied Manuel's Guesthouse. He took us to Manuel, a resident artist who does his painting on a street corner. Manuel phoned Lorenzo who promptly met us and carried our luggage up the steps to the top of the world (150 steps). The climb is worth... More
