La Colonnina is a quiet hideout from busy beach goers and main square of Monterosso yet is near enough to walk about. Have charming climbers drapes down the wall of the hotel. It gives a serene and peaceful feeling after a busy outing and return to a calm sanctuary. Rooms are basic but clean and tidy.

In a busy touristy town like monterosso, this hotel is tucked on a quiet street and really had a nice charm to it. The staff is friendly. And rooms are clean with beautiful marble, although beds are hard as a rock! Skip the breakfast, it saved me 30 euros per day, and other reviews said it wasn't worth it anyway,... More

Loved having La Colonnina as a home while exploring Cinque Terre - it's just off the beach, main streets and square in Monterosso, but still private and quiet for when you want to get away. Beach towels were great and saved us room packing. Helpful receptionists answered all our questions and made for a great stay!

The hotel was about a 10 minute walk from the train station, but I wouldn't mind if it was longer since the view was gorgeous on the way there. We received a very warm greeting upon our arrival, in addition to drinks. I really enjoy being greeted by happy people who like their jobs. The room itself was nothing special,... More

There is not much innovation among hotels in Cinque Terre, and this hotel is no exception. It is on the old fashioned side, but charming nonetheless. We had a lovely sized terrace (critical and much better than rooms with just a couple of chairs on a non-private terrace). The room was quite small otherwise, but had everything we needed including... More

The hotel was perfect for our stay in Cinque Terre. Close to the train and easily accessible to restaurants and shops. The staff was very welcoming when we arrived and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel itself was very nice, clean and comfortable. A wonderful breakfast was served each morning, fresh everything. We had a great time, didn't spend a... More

We were greeted on our arrival with freshly made lemonade and a bowl of chilled watermelon slices and a very welcoming staff. Our room was gorgeous, with all the amenities you could want on vacation. There is a lovely rooftop deck with lounge chairs and a remarkable view. The hotel is only a short walk down a path to the... More

This wonderful hotel has the most helpful and friendly staff! They knew, or found out, the answers to all of our questions and their advice was accurate. They responded quickly to our requests. The front desk staff (with exception of one) spoke English perfectly. The rooms were very nice (the more recently updated ones, especially). The "quad" room had a... More

The hotel is approximately a 10 minute walk from the train station. Easily done with luggage. It is just off the main square making it a quiet location away from the bustle of the tourist noise. However, the sound proofing of the hotel rooms is not great. You tend to hear people moving around in the halls etc. We had... More
