We stayed in early Sept 09 when it was still hot. We booked the Giglio suite based on recommendations read on this site as we were staying 4 nights which was our longest "one stop " during our tour of Northern Italy and wanted the extra space. Immaculate rooms, beautiful bathroom, cool airconditioning and generous breakfasts .Nicoletta was so friendly... more

We stayed in the larger room, suite. All the beds we slept in on our trip were very firm, so were these. Nicoleta and her daughter, Veronica run a very clean and efficient B&B. We felt very comfortable and Nicoleta was so helpful and, did I tell you about Breakfast? OMG, fresh fruit, the best pastries, procuitto and brie cheese,... more

We were only staying two nights and friends said to stay in Vernazza but after reading reviews of La Poeisa, we decided to stay in Monterossa. I do not regret it all. The room was small but clean and tastefully decorated, plenty of hot water and window that opened. FYI rooms in Italy are generally small but you spend most... more

The host(s) are wonderful, the room--we had a small one--was very clean, the little garden terrace is amazing with its lemon tree and perfect breakfast venue (AWESOME service and food)... Monterosso is the place to stay. Hike or train it to the rest. This place is fantastic. It's the exact little second-floor-conversion into a B&B you want to find. It's... more

We were warmly welcomed with appetizers and champagne to the well located La Poesia. Breakfasts were wonderfully prepared and offered a variety of pastries, fruit and hot, cooked eggs and bacon. The room was clean, but extremely small. There was only room to walk around the bed; no space to leave a suitcase open. The bathroom is also very small;... more

This place was as good as it gets. Perfect service, perfect room and the breakfast was the best we had in Italy. Veronica was the nicest Italian we met on our trip and greeted us as if we were family. I reccomend this place if you are looking for a true Italian Riviera experience. You stay in a quiet little... more

Monterroso (and Cinque Terre) was a wonderful destination. Although we were there at the height of the summer heat, our hostess went overboard to make us comfortable, and the AC in the rooms kept us all cool. The house had been totally renovated and although the rooms (and bathrooms) were a bit small, they were top notch quality. The mattresses... more

Nicoletta's attention to detail - from the booking process/ emails, to the welcoming drink & icecream, to the fantastic breakfasts - make this a good choice to stay in Monterosso. It is a well located, quality B&B - very small rooms, but beautifully furnished, with great bathroom facilities. The terrace also is a special, sunny place to either eat breakfast... more

We stayed at La Poesia for 4 nights in July 2009. We chose it based on the great reviews on Trip Advisor and we were so pleased with our experience. Every good thing that people write on this board is absolutely true. Highlights: -GREAT location in "old-town" -Walk out the door and two steps around the corner, and you'll find... more

We booked La Poesia based on reviews and pictures from TripAdvisor travelers and were not disappointed! We read several "pros" and "cons" about staying in the old vs. new part of Monterosso. We are so glad we stayed in the "old" part of town. The buildings, shops, and restaurants are so quaint - rustic and very traditional Italian. Upon our... more
