We stayed at Locanda II Maestrale with our family for two nights. The Hotel is a small family run place with excellent service and great location. It has a beautiful terrace where they serve Breakfast and Snacks, Coffee and Fresh Orange Juice all day. The terrace overlooks the Monterosso main street and a great place to lounge after a long... We loved staying at Giovanni and Stefania's hotel. From the beautiful terrace for breakfasts ( the best we have had in the 2 weeks we have been in Italy) to a lovely, spotless and comfortable room ( the superior double) The hotel was in a good position as it's an easy walk from the train station , good restaurants to early morning... We found the Locanda il Maestrale to be a quiet cool refuge in the heart of Monterosso al Mare. The staff was incredibly helpful. The air conditioning unit in one of our rooms was not functioning ;we didn't really notice it since the hotel is cool and quiet even during the day. The owners insisted on giving us a discount off... This was a favorite stop on our recent Northern Italy tour for numerous reasons: 1. The rooms are clean, well-appointed (though appropriately rustic), and comfortable. Sleep quality was above average. 2. The breakfast was, hands down, our favorite among multiple locations in a two-week Italy tour. The croissants were made fresh each morning, in town, and the best I have... More

This is a gem of a small hotel in Monterosso al Mare in the Cinque Terre. The location is great - just up the main street, Via Roma, near the center of the old town. The hotel has a very appealing terrace with lots of flowers and shrubs which straddles Via Roma, giving you a great place to eat breakfast... More

We took a taxi from the railway station and arrived to find quite a number of steps up to the hotel. I walked up to reception and immediately, Giovanni (our host) came down and carried the rest of our bags upstairs. This is a quaint little establishment but in a very good location with a lovely terrace. Our room was... More

We enjoyed our 3-day stay in this lovely hotel. Gionvanni and Stephania are gracious, helpful hosts who know the local hotspots and hiking paths. The terrace is an oasis of calm and sunshine above the city. Easy to get to and surrounded by a bustling town.

This was the perfect place for us to stay in the Cinque Terra. It's an easy walk from the train station in the New Town to the Old Town. We loved the terrace overlooking the small square and the always available drinks and snacks. Stafania and Giovanni were excellent hosts. We also loved that there were only a total of... More

We stayed here for 7 nights, we are older travelers and we wanted plenty of time to look around. It was not too long for us, we visited all 4 other towns and enjoyed wandering Monterosso every day and evening. The terrace was a great feature, we enjoyed it a lot. The breakfast was good, especially the cake from Laura's... More

Yes, the rooms are small, but cozy. Not noisy when facing the back building (in the Corniglia room) but lively enough to warrant comfort while listening to locals chatting on their way to work/school under the sitting terrace (there is an archway at the entrance to the B&B.) What a treat this all was! Check in & out was easy... More
