We were only here for one night. We got an earlier train, and were allowed to check in early. Our room was ready. Andrea at the front desk gave us a map, with recommendations for places to eat and things to do. When we asked about the convent and cemetery, he told us how to get there. He also explained... More

My partner and I just got married and travelled to Italy for a honeymoon. I highly recommend Albergo al Carugio because the rooms are good, the location is great, and the hospitality is wonderful. The hospitality is something I want to delve into in more detail, and this is the main reason if we ever get back to Monterosso, we'll... More

This is an fairly basic hotel that nevertheless provides all you need. It's close to the parking station and about 5 minutes walk from the seafront. The standout feature is the manager, Andrea, who goes out of his way to make sure everything is fine. He is a wealth of knowledge about the Cinque Terre. The only downside from our... More

Monterosso was my favorite place we stayed, and part of that was the great hospitality from this hotel. The owner greeted us by name the minute we walked in! He gave us a map of the town, and told us the good restaurants to eat at, and for what meal. We tried all of them, and they were all fabulous.... More

Stayed at Albergo al Carugio for three nights during Easter 2013. Were warmly welcomed by Andrea, the manager. Room was ready even though we were early. Andrea is very helpful and knowledgeable about the various routes -he made all the difference in making our stay a successful one in terms of hiking experiences. Clean and quiet room, good shower. It... More

We were able to walk to the hotel through the tunnels so the blockage had cleared by the time we were there. The rooms are small but clean. Our shower had an LED light in it that changed colors with water temp. The bathroom is tiny and shower water gets everywhere. Andrea gave us wonderful suggestions for food around town.... More

After a long travel day my sister and I were finally glad to arrive at al Carugio. I had been in contact with Adrea, the owner, who was very thorough and helpful with instructions about how to find the hotel. Which wasn't tough at all. It was a decent walk from the train station, nothing too long. There are closer... More

The whole booking process, check-in, and check-out all worked seamlessly (which isn't always the case in boutique hotels in Italy). We loved the host who shared with us tips for restaurants, trails, etc. On arrival, we were given one of the larger rooms because he noticed we walked in with 2 really large bags and would need space to keep... My friend and I stayed at Albergo al Carugio for two nights late May 2013. This hotel is at the end of the main road in the old part of Monterosso- just a couple of minute walk to the ocean. The room was clean and nice and we even had a private patio which backed up to the neighboring lemon... More

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in April 2013. The rooms are simple and kept very clean. The best part of staying here is dealing with the owner, Andrea. After booking the room, I received an email from him within hours with a map of the area, directions from the train station and his mobile number in... More
