We loved Carugiu! It was just what we wanted: reasonably priced, very clean apartment in Cinque Terre. We stayed in the larger suite with the small kitchen and balcony. The kitchen has a small refrigerator and table with 2 chairs. The buildinng is located up the winding main street in Manarola. Be prepared for lots of steps. Manarola is a... more

This was such a great find! We had so much uncertainty about how to get to Manarola, park, find our accommodations, etc. But the experience was easy following directions from the hosts' daughter in law, who speaks English. The hosts speak Italian, but somehow were able to explain things to us, even how to operate the espresso machine in the... more

We just got back from Italy a few weeks ago and we stayed in the Carugiu B&B for 3 nights. The B&B has upgraded in 2005. We stayed in a suite which includes a eating area, seperate bath and a balcony besides the bed room. The room is extremely clean and Chrstine, the owner, is very helpful even she doesn't... more

This place was exactly what we needed. We stayed for 3 nights at the end of September and it cost 70 euros/night. It was clean, spacious and well situated. We loved the fact it had a fridge and the tv, coffee/tea maker, and the small balcony were great bonuses. Although the owners do not speak English, their step-daughter, Christine, did... more

I went there with my girlfriend. The accomodation is great even without sea view. Very quiet, very clean. The B&B hosts are great, very welcoming and full of good tips for places to see, beaches and restaurants. Would definitely go back there. more

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay here...it was such a nice break from the hostels we had been staying in when we were in Rome and Florence. It was easy to find and when we got there we were greeted and given a map and suggestions for dining and going out. Christine (who helps run the place along... more

We loved staying at the Carugiu B&B during our stay in Manarola. Manarola is a great town to stay in, it is big enough to have a selection of restaurants and businesses, but not so packed with tourists (Vernazza, Monterosso) that the experience feels less authentic. We had the room located on the ground floor right next to the entrance,... more

Wasn't sure about staying in Manarola at first because we'd read that other villages were more picturesque or had more going on. Luckily, we still chose Manarola and Carugiu and both were perfect. We stayed in the suite. It was immaculate, modern, basically everything you need. We were in email contact with the owners before arriving. Upon arrival, we received... more

We arrived at the Carugiu B&B on our first day in Europe. Christine gave us absolutely impeccable directions for taking the bus from the Malpensa Airport to the Milano Centrale Train Station, where bought tickets to Manarola. After we arrived, she even helped us with our new cell phone. Even though the rooms do not have a view of the... more

This is a great little b&b (not that we sampled the breakfast) in a great spot. I think Manarola is a good choice for exploring the Cinque Terre, as it's not too busy or touristy, but still has plenty of eating options, and is a short walk to neighbouring town of Riomaggiore. As other reviewers have said, the room was... more
