Take Corniglia as a town into consideration when booking anything. It a huge hike up. Granted the whole point is to hike, it's not always what you want to deal with as soon as you finish. The room and bathroom were fine. Check in was easy, the older woman during check out was quite nippy. They clean and kick everyone... More

The place is very clean and safe. It is located in Corniglia, a beautiful place. However, they require that you leave the property around 11AM-3PM everyday for cleaning. Also, there is a curfew (~12 AM to 1 AM). The lockers are very spacious. Many mentioned the rule regarding leaving the key at the reception, but we were not asked to... More

My wife and I chose Corniglia out of all the towns in Cinque Terre because of its reputation as the most quiet. We chose to stay at the hostel based on Rick Steve's review and because we had had a great experience at the Ostello Archi Rossi in Florence. After a long day on the train, we arrived in Corniglia... A newer facility among the rustic town of Corniglia. The lockers are spacious and come with a lock. The showers have great temperature control and privacy. The common area is the place to get complimentary WIFI as well as to socialize with the others in the hostel. The hostel had a 1:30am curfew and you have to be out of... More

I would describe this hostel as very clean, which is good. The lockers for each person are huge, but can be noisy early in the morning. The fact that the hostel closes during the day was a little annoying for me as I did the home as far as monterosso al mare. Needless to say I wanted a shower, but... More

Booked a private room ensuite 1,5month ahead of arrival. My choice of town and room was purely based on value for money as I tended to find that a lot, lot, lot of rooms/apartments were overpriced and really old-fashioned across all 5 villages...after much research, I came across this location and oh my...what a pleasant surprise from both corniglia &... Great location in the middle of Cinque Terre with some ocean views. Good price relative to the other area. Nothing special about the rooms or staff. The walls were kind of thin. The parking is very expensive. We took the shuttle but otherwise there is a long walk up to get to the hostel.

I only stayed here for 2 nights but definitley do not recommend it. First off it is in a horrible location.. Up 300 stairs.. With a suitcase or backpack basically impossible to get to (though their is an extremely packed shuttle bus) Thought the 'lock out' thing was terrible as we had to sit out front of the building in... Your perspective of the service at Ostello di Corniglia is likely to vary depending on whether it's the first or last place you stay in Italy. If you're already jaded by rude italians and their poor excuse for customer service then you might not be too perturbed by the staff here. Don't expect to use a toilet before check in,... More

Place was clean but that is about it. The staff were unfriendly (very selfish) and you have keys but have to hand them in whenever you leave which makes the lockers pointless. Anyone can grab the keys from the desk. Also they have a lockout time from 1pm to 3pm which means even if you are already in the hostel... More
