I chose a "loft suite" at the hotel since I like the idea of having a separate space from the bedroom. The "living room" has no sofa! It has two small round tables (one next to a small armchair) and one just standing on its own. Disappointing and not comfortable to relax in. Overpriced. Moreover, the "suites" are across a... More

Pros: Location is incredibly convenient Staff is very friendly and helpful Rooms are of decent size - and an "upgraded" room is quite large Hotel is very clean Cons: Internet is ridiculously slow Can be noisy if windows are open The breakfast is really, really disappointing. Not at all up to a 4 star quality The bed was terribly hard... More

We spent two nights in beautiful Trieste in February 2015 and had an amazing stay at this hotel! Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable, but the real standout was the breakfast! It was one of the best breakfasts I have had in Italy. Great cappuccini and everything you could want. Fantastic central location!

We arrived hours early and they got us into our room within an hour. Alas, our room at the sister Hotel James Joyce had a non-functioning heater. They kindly upgraded us to the Urban Design nearby. All the staff, from the barista Manuel to the ladies at the front desk went above and beyond their duties.

We stayed only one night and it was excellent. The hotel is close to the main square. The staff was very helpful and provided great information and direction. Beds were very comfortable and rooms were nice and clean. The only problem it doesn't have a parking, but they were helpful to tell us where we can park and arranged for... More

Great service from all the friendly, helpful staff. We would never have found the hotel if it wasn't for the receptionist, Valentina who also recommended a restaurant nearby and booked us a table first checking the kitchen was open (it was after (10.15pm). Fantastic food and house red. The directions for walking to the hotel from the station need to... More

We had booked a room at the James Joyce but were upgraded. We were thrilled with the room and its cleanliness. I really have nothing bad to say at all. Maybe if you're used to standard size twin beds these were a bit small but it didn't matter. The most outstanding part of this hotel experience was the breakfast. It... More

For Italy, being a modern hotel, this place is pretty good. Mattress is comfortable, got an upgrade to superior room after talking to concierge girl a bit. They also offered to park my car in front of the hotel since I leave early in the morning. I can recommend this place, just don't expect a 5 star hotel!

My friends and I stayed here one night during our travels. There was 3 of us, the room was a little small for 3 but was fine for the night. The hotel is right in town so we went for a walk looking for a restaurant for dinner. Breakfast in the hotel was great! Rooms were very clean and modern.

The heading says it all really. Urban Hotel Design is extremely well located in the centre of town, handy to the waterfront and to shops, cafes, bars etc. If you have a car (we did), parking is a bit hit-and-miss - you rely on spaces being available in the streets nearby - but generally there is no trouble and the...
