The ten-unit, family-owned Nascosto serves up more profound hospitality than a bigger hotel ever could. Plus it's located in the wonderful section of Trieste where the streets narrow, shops serve the immediate neighborhood, and everyone knows everyone. Though the hotel's just five minutes from Trieste's monumental waterfront plazas, the scale around it is charming and intimate. Then you open the... More

Normally I spend lots of time in budget hotels for business, but the Albero was a real treat. It's warm and cozy and the staff is friendly and very accommodating. It has a great location just steps away from the Cavanna. If visiting Trieste the "hidden tree" is a great place to land.

This is a lovely, intimate little hotel situated in the heart of the old town. It is about as different from a corporate, chain hotel as it is possible to be. The rooms are all individually furnished and the public rooms are decorated with pictures and artefacts from the owner's collection. Our room was clean and comfortable with a small... More

5 mins walking from main square, and private parking just a few mins away. Wonderful home made breakfast, large comfortable and quiet rooms, just perfect for a few days in Trieste. Smokers area available in open courtyard inside hotel.

My partner and I stayed here for a week on the top floor. The rooms are all named after different types of wood and the staff are incredibly helpful in finding the best spots to try Trieste's incredible food and wine. Stylish and simple without being overly lux - just right for the old world feel and historically minded tourist... More

We loved this hotel. Very pretty place that makes you really feel like your in Italy. The owner and the staff are very helpful and friendly in every way. The hotel is an updated vintage hotel just steps away from the town center and all of the pubs, cafes, and restaurants. There is a laundry mat across the way, and... More

What a find! A charming, interesting and very comfortable small hotel in a great location. The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable, the breakfasts simple but excellent quality, and the warm hospitality and ideal location make this a special place to stay. We felt as if we were locals, and could blend right in. The previous reviews capture so much of... More

This small hotel was absolutely perfect for our four days in Trieste. Rooms and public areas are charming and comfortable, breakfast is simple and lovely (terrifically strong cappuccino on request), all in a great location just blocks from the Piazza Unita and small pedestrian streets nearby. Best of all a truly wonderful staff - they were helpful and kind with... More

So old, in fact, that the hotel included part of the original Roman wall. You can see the wall in the rear of the breakfast room, as well as a column that was discovered beneath the hotel while remodeling the building. The common areas were quite pretty - I especially liked the lighted tile shelving. I asked for American coffee... More

Great location right in center of town and minutes from the port (although a bit tricky to reach by car). We booked a spot in the hotel's private, secure garage right around the corner. Excellent quality all around and very reasonably priced (be sure to book directly with the hotel). Very enthusiastic and warm owners and staff, beautifully decorated rooms... More
