It seems there is no shortage of people who recognize the quality and character of L'Albero Nascosto, but we must add our voices, and our vote. We traveled to Trieste from the Rimini area, an American husband, a native Italian wife, and our small daughter. We travel frequently throughout the US and Europe, staying in many fine hotels. The beauty... More

Looked great on the web... At least from a pictures perspective! Guess what, it was even better in reality, the atmosphere is so cosy and the room so neat, elegant that we were disappointed to leave after one night only! We enjoyed it and the sympathy coming from the people managing the place was a real plus as well! Sure... More

This is a small place in a street just behind all that's happening in Trieste and we were extremely pleasantly surprised with it. We had a lovely big room and bathroom, with air conditioning (essential with temperatures in the late 30s) and also a small kitchen area, which we did use during our stay because it was so hot outside.... We were - unfortunately - only able to stay here for 2 nights but I would have been more than happy to extend our stay, both on account of this charming hotel and of the charms of Trieste. The hotel is well-located on a not too busy street in central Trieste. The main square is only a short walk away.... More

My husband and I arrived in Trieste on a Sunday when many places were closed and didn't have any accommodations prearranged. After walking around the Old Town on a VERY hot day, we stumbled upon this small hotel. The woman who greeted us when we entered the lobby was very friendly and helpful. She showed us a very spacious room... More

A charming hotel that makes you feel at home in the center of Trieste. Large and modern rooms each one with different decoration, delicious breakfast with quality products, books available to read in the rooms and lobby, and a sociable and cosmopolitan owner ready to help with information and suggestions. Highly recommended for what it offers and for reasonable prices.

This hotel is homey and at the same time feels like you secretly stayed overnight in an art museum. Each room/apartment has beautiful antique furniture combined with great modern art, a cozy kitchen and nice bathroom. The open area downstairs is filled with great books and gorgeous museum quality objet d'art. The staff and the owners are marvelous. Breakfasts are... More

This place gets an excellent rating from me because it gets a 100/100 on 2 aspects: 1) helpfulness of the owner and staff; and 2) the location. Regarding the staff and owner. They are very passionate about their city and it shows. They helped me with lost baggage, with transportation to Ljubljana, and with extremely interesting restaurant recommendations--especially a little... More

The ten-unit, family-owned Nascosto serves up more profound hospitality than a bigger hotel ever could. Plus it's located in the wonderful section of Trieste where the streets narrow, shops serve the immediate neighborhood, and everyone knows everyone. Though the hotel's just five minutes from Trieste's monumental waterfront plazas, the scale around it is charming and intimate. Then you open the... More

Normally I spend lots of time in budget hotels for business, but the Albero was a real treat. It's warm and cozy and the staff is friendly and very accommodating. It has a great location just steps away from the Cavanna. If visiting Trieste the "hidden tree" is a great place to land.
