On the last night of our Istrian holiday we asked the Trieste Tourist office if there were any recommended five star hotels in Trieste. We were told there was only one. Judging by the four star hotels that we had seen within one hundred yards of the office, we thought this would be something special....
We arrived at Hotel Greif...

I admit we wanted to stay in the Miramare further along the coast, but it was full, so this was our 2nd choice. The hotel is being expanded with another huge building being constructed at the rear. We were afraid of building works starting at dawn, but actually had no trouble. The small parking area to the west of the...

no parking place (actually is on the street where you have many difficulties to park your car), no mantainance/ cleanness, looks not so good although they try to be a 5* hotel, they are just on the price because the quality is very bad. Now they are building a new part so it is noisy and you cant use all...

This hotel is advertised as five stars. It is a complete mystery how this can be a five star hotel; the rooms are OK-ish but the bathrooms are more at the level of a two star hotel with blocked sinks, worn out bath tubs and poor lighting. They looked as if they were last re-furbished in the early 80-ties. When...

Clean, welcoming, comfortable hotel with welcoming staff. We arrived at 10.40am and booked in without delay. The first thing we did was to take in the view from the rooftop restaurant. As we entered we were offered coffee and a table overlooking the Adriatic and the City of Trieste some 3km distant. A delightful welcome. One evening we asked at...

It is a mystery how this hotel can be classified as 5 star. Location is on the noisy main road to Trieste centre with no parking. There was no views from my 2nd floor room except the builing across the main street. Room was very ordinary with a basic bathroom which must have been renovated more than 25 years ago,...

I was happily surprised after many searches for a great experience to rediscover my families city. The Maria Theresa was a little more than a walk to the center of Trieste, but still quite convenient by taxi or bus. The surroundings were of fine taste and service wonderful. Also, the breakfast on the terrace is never to be forgotten.

Booked here thru work. Checked in around 6pm. The check-in employee was rude and condescending to my boss for no apparent reason other than he was a jerk. He was polite when speaking to me, but I did witness his rudeness to my boss and it was absolutely uncalled for. I did encounter a maid a few minutes later and...

We stayed here on the last night of our short trip round Trieste and Croatia, and really needed a relax! With the swimming pool, attentive service, massages, hot powerful showers, delicious food and beautiful views from the restaurant this place was just the ticket!
The rooms are newly furnished and carefully designed, with a fully stocked mini bar and complimentary...
