I booked this hotel last month for 4 nights. The hotel is so close to the central train station and bus station and to the city centre. The only problem is that the airconditioning was being turned off and the temperature at that time was 25 degrees centigrade. It was really hot. I reported it to the receptionist but to... More

I had dreamed of going to Trieste for some time, after several trips to Italy. I had reads of Trieste being the "complex, complicated, but enthralling" unique Italian city, situated in a truly original cultural and geographical area which embraced an intellectual, quirky quality, and possessed an ancient and complex history....a must see! Well, this integral city left me depressed... More

Ahhhhhhhh! Hotel Roma. What a wonderful spot, so central and with old style quiet, quaint rooms from yester year, pehaps formidable in it's past life of Film Stars and Celebrities but now just great for us common Folk. Highly recommended.

I must admit this hotel doesn't look much from the outside, but don't let that put you off. The staff were simply amazing, especially the male morning receptionist and the young maid who cleans the rooms. Breakfast spread was good and tastey, room was basic but clean and had tea/coffee making facilities which is unusual on the continent. Excellent location,... More

Spent a night there as part of a week long bike trip across Italy. Hotel is centrally located and is a short ten minute walk to the train station and over to the main touristy, and charming town square and old town. So for that, it's fine. In short, if the price is right, you'll do fine for one or... More

The hotel was everything it is advertised to be. Comfortable, clean, efficiently run and excellent value. Great situation for strolling into Trieste centre. Very helpful staff. Overall, a very good experience.

So we got here by train and walked straight to hotel Roma. It was in a rough area which lead us to believe the whole of Trieste would be like this, which it wasn't. Before arrival we asked for our stay to be bought forward and the receptionist at the time was very helpful and moved it straight away no... More

I was housed at Hotel Roma for a conference June 22-29th, it was easy enough to locate from the train station..quite centrally placed, rooms were clean enough to stay, reception was good, breakfast was good enough. The stay was comfortable and very much enjoyed my stay in Trieste.

I would say this "hotel" is more like a pension than a hotel. It was clean enough but since it is near the train station the surrounding area is a little scary, specially at night. The room even had blue lighting next to the bed which gave it a brothel feel. For the price it cost invest a little extra... More

We are simply astonished by reading your comment. As the majority of the hotels in Trieste are near the railway station, we assume that all of them have the same feel.... In Italy you have to give your passport at the Reception because we have to register the guests' data in order to send them to the police. Nobody keeps... More

The building is old but renovated and the lift is quite nornal as in other buildings in Trieste and in Italy. The windows and the shutters are new but Trieste is a windy town (do you know the bora?). It's normal that you can hear the wind. Breakfast is not just croissants, bread and jam. Maybe you were in a hurry... More
