The room was well above our expectations; cleanliness, location, and host was fantastic. He has been great help. We had arrived very late in the nite, due to delay in our flight, he was nice enough to greet us and everything in the room was ready. The building is located close to every place you want to visit in Parma.... more

Run by a big, charismatic local (Max) this place exceeded my expectations. It's in a great central location, but feels secluded and peaceful. The room was clean, large, comfortable with all the amenities you could want, including free wi-fi and the loan of a lap-top. We stayed on the top floor which had a lovely little balcony too overlooking a... more

We traveled to Parma for a conference, and invited my in-laws along to look after our 2 year old son. The apartment is within the old city centre on the west side of the river. Parma is not large, and we were able to get to our venue on foot, whereas the grandparents explored all of the sights with the... more

My first trip to Italy and a friend recommended this B&B. We were not disappointed - the host was extremely friendly and welcoming, with great knowledge of Parma and the other areas we wanted to visit. We felt at home straight away. The room was lovely, clean and modern, and even had a great little balcony area, and maybe more... more

We stayed in the apartment nr 4, at the top floor of the house and found a nice, cosy, clean, calm and well-equipped home for three nights in Parma. The owner, Max, takes really good care of You, is very service-minded and speaks english very well. The apartment is situated near a supermarket, close to a nice park and with... more

B&B Rubra is less of a "hotel" and more like renting an actual flat in the city. Owner Max owns the back half of a building so your room is actually a flat or room in the city. I had originally booked the double room but he upgraded me to an apartment, which was big enough to sleep at least... more

B&B Rubra is everything I’d hoped it would be and more; I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The most significant factor is the proprietor, Max. Even before arrival, Max had impressed me through email exchanges but I had no way of knowing what was in store…Max is the nicest and most helpful host you will ever find. Max took... more

We stayed here for three nights. The service provided by the owner, Max, was great - very friendly and helpful. The accomodation was lovely, kept very clean - our dishes were even done for us (which I was not expecting - we were self catering!) The location is brilliant, walking distance to all local attractions and good restaurants. Highly recommend... more

If you want to experience life in Italy with access to someone (Max) who speaks English fluently and is willing to direct or help you in any way he can, this bed and breakfast is the place to stay. Max has several charming suites in this small apartment building in central Parma. Our suite, which had a kitchenette, was comfortable,... more
