We stayed at Villino di Porporano for two nights with our two teen aged children, Immediately , we knew we were going to be extremely happy here. The grounds are well kept and beautiful. It also has an inground, large pool, which my kids were thrilled about given the hot, Italian summers.Elena, the owner, was lovely, very helpful and accommodating.... More

We stayed for 2 nights during a tour of Northern Italy,, our room overlooked the gardens which were beautiful and out of view was a swimming pool, the decor and linens in the room were lovely. Breakfast on the garden terrace was excellent, all homemade bread cakes and pastries , eggs made to order. Elena was delightful and most helpful... More

The B&B is next to Parma in Porporano. All rooms are lovely decorated with very good blankets and best air condition I ever had in Italy. The garden ans pool is also very nice and on an A Level. We totally enjoyed our stay. Only the bathroom tiles in the corner could be imp roofed - but it was still... More

Villino di Porporano by far is the most friendly and hospitable bed & breakfast we have ever stayed at. From the minute we arrived, Elena and her family, made us feel comfortable at their home. The grounds and facility are kept immaculate. The gardens and landscapes make you feel that you are truly in Italy. A converted barn, which houses... More

Elena and her family ensured we relaxed and enjoyed the simple but sophisticated hospitality at their beautiful home/B&B. The room we had overlooked part of the well tended garden and was delightfully furnished. Bathroom spotless and lovely shampoo & smells. Minor grumble would be size of tv, too small for room and 'old' eyes requires upgrading to match style of... More

Such a perfect piece of paradise- Italian style. From the moment we drove up we knew we had made the best choice. The converted barn was done so nicely from the gorgeous Attic room, breakfast tables set up outside to the amazing pool & garden area- it really was lovely. The effort from Elena's & her staff made our few... More

Very beautifully renovated building, nice and spacey room. Lovely garden with a few huge trees, a large, heated, swimming pool and plenty of space to relax. Close the the city, with ample parking space available in a very quiet area. The owner and manager, Elena, makes you feel very welcome, and when staying there: do ask her for some restaurant... More

It was beautiful! From homemade breakfast on the room to the service, everything was perfect. The well-maintained complex and the wonderful room, we will not soon forget. Just a dream. We will come back!

I cannot say enough about the hospitality of Elena (the owner and manager) and this beautiful property and rooms! My husband and I spent three nights in the top floor room and really enjoyed our stay. The property retains it's rural roots but the building is restored beautifully with modern and rustic touches, large spaces and windows, and a luxury... More

We have stayed in many hotels and B&Bs and this is without doubt the most wonderful place to stay. A beautiful and tasteful restoration of a large barn. The conversion has been done to a very high standard, and the furnishings and furniture tasteful. The gardens are beautifully laid out, with a large swimming pool for the guests' use. The... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Just a few kilometres from the centre of Parma, in the small, homely village of Porporano, a young couple devised and organised this place of delightful rest. Next to the main villa, in the garden grounds, springs an old rural cottage, built in solid stone brick with a hayloft above. This simple country site has been transformed into a charming cottage for guests; 5 rooms with en suite bathroom, communal area, a large kitchen, spacious veranda protected by glass which separates it from the enchanting green. Keeping the atmosphere of times gone by with its rough walls spaced out with blocks of pebble stone in place of bricks and the dimension of the hayloft which still astonishes those who enter; the rooms where the rough wooden floor gives harmony to the colours. The owners have furnished each room carefully and with passion: with iron headboards and delicately embroidered curtains and tapestry in thick linen, once forgotten in an old trunk. The cottage of Porporano, a place where hospitality is not only a profession but a style of life. ... more   less
