We spent 2 nights in this hotel just recently. Firstly arriving, we drove to the Hotel and is very easy to locate with Sat Nav, there is a small car park which is expensive but no reservation required. The hotel reception is very cool and restrained and as mentioned is an oasis of calm. Friendly staff had us very quickly... More

Very modern hotel near to the train station and close to the main centre of Bologna. Room was relatively small but very clean. Hotel had a Michelin star restaurant and a terrace bar (we were given two free glasses of prosecco on arrival).

If Bologna is the best kept secret in Italy - and it is, because it is not over-run by tourists - then the I Portici Hotel is the best kept secret in Bologna. The morale of the staff is such that they all seem to think so too - competent, charming, gracious. The management obviously know something special about running... More

Loads of reasons to stay at this hotel: - really beautiful rooms. Our good sized room, 410B, was a 'superior' room. It was a quiet corner dual aspect room overlooking a park with an amazing ceiling fresco and lovely marble floor. Comfy bed, modern minimalist modern furniture. Sadly slightly noisy aircon which wasn't quite cold enough at night. Decent enough... More

We have just stayed for 4 nights in a superior room at this hotel and were very impressed by the friendly and efficient staff, the hotel in general and the standard of the room. The public area of the hotel is very modern with excellent use of glass screens and ceiling, and is a nice open area in which to... More

I stayed on this Hotel 1 night. The hotel looks nice and well located, nevertheless I had people working the whole night over my head and the construction noise still continue in the morning. I talked and complain with people at the reception but nobody mind about it!!! Run from this hotel.

For the quality and location it is very good value. It is a modern design but fits well in the Old Town of Bologna. Breakfast was included as a SLH Club Member and it was delicious and lots of variety for Italian standards. There's a Michelin starred restaurant in the hotel but as it was closed on Sunday and Monday... More

The hotel is perfectly situated about two minutes walk from the train station and 15 minutes from the Piazza Maggiore. I`m not a big fan of the minimalist reception, it has the feel of a hospital waiting area but that is just a matter of taste. Our room was large with a marble floor and a frescoed ceiling. The bed... We stayed here for 4 nights in September. First impressions were good: the lobby is bright and stylish, the staff very professional and with excellent English. The location is great: a few minutes walk from the station and and the bus from the airport, and about 10 minutes from Piazza Maggiore. Breakfast in the former theatre was excellent; the options... Unlike the other hotels we stayed at during our 3 week trip to Italy which were more traditional or quaint, i portici was ultra modern and geared towards the business traveler. That means everything was uber efficient and professional - particularly the service and the staff - all of whom spoke very good english. Our room was small but well-designed... More
