Converted convent - staff very helpful and friendly. Parking a bit of a problem but it is anywhere in bologna. Rooms very individual and unusually furnished. About 15 mins walk from old centre. Not in the best street in bologna but worth a try

If you prefer the typical chain hotel layout and service then this is probably not for you. While some of the limitations mentioned in the other reviews here are fair, this is a really good choice if you want a good clean hotel but with some distinctive character. This was my second short stay at the Convento. The staff I... More

Hotel was very nice, the staff was very accomodating. The manager went out of his way to find the World Cup for my sons to watch. Rooms were clean, bathroom was modern. My only issue is the location. It is a 20 minute walk to the restaurants and city center sites, and a 40 minute to the train station.

We stayed at this hotel for a long weekend in December. The location is very convenient and the standards are quite good. We had a suite in 2 floors with 2 full bathrooms and a big bedroom with plenty of wardrobe space downstairs. The staff is very helpful and the breakfast is quite good. Having travelled in Italy for some... More

This was my second stay at this hotel. I enjoyed it enough the first time (3 years ago) that I decided to stay here again. Over the last 3 years, the hotel has become very run down. One of the pictures on the wall behind the bed was starting to come off of the wall. One of the light fixtures... More

At first we could not wait to arrive at this hotel. We had spent a few nights in different areas of Northern Italy and this was the third hotel for us. We had hired a car with a sat Nav and so put the post code for the hotel in. Firstly it was extremely hard to find. It is located... More

Thought it would be interesting to stay at a converted convent, but it has been modernized and has lost its feel of what could be a very unique boutique hotel. We met two receptionist, one was fairly fluent in English, the other not so much and we had a hard time communicating withi him (we just wanted to send out... More

The guy on reception was not the best first experience, we weren't allowed to check in until after 3pm, so we left our luggage in their not very secure storage area. When we finally checked into Our rooms had to grope our way along the passage as all the light bulbs had blown. Room we Booked was a Superior Double,... More

our stay started badly with the worst welcome I have ever had in any hotel - ever. this could be a real gem of a hotel, but the service is appalling. Fortunately we only booked for one night, but unfortunately it was our last night of a fabulous trip to Bologna and Riccione. Breakfast was a joke - not only... More

This hotel has a 4 star (Italian) rating. It would not compare to a 4 star hotel elsewhere and surprised they have this rating. Many mornings people were left stranded, waiting for breakfast, whilst other guests finished as there is not enough tables for even half the guests at the hotel, and the breakfast buffet was unimaginative and limited.
