Overall, we had a good stay for five nights at Hotel Il Canale. Let me outline some of the pros and then follow that with the cons.
PROS:
The location is outstanding. It is close to the train station, a quick taxi ride from the airport, a short walk to the main shopping district and the main piazza of the town. In addition, it is close to the university, dining, and most of the touristy sites. And, although close to the action, it is not too noisy because it is a block from the main drag. If location is important to you, this hotel would make an excellent choice. Another strength is the breakfast, which includes a custom ordered coffee and the standard European continental breakfast. The room was clean and adequate, as was the bathroom. Actually, the bathroom was larger than average for Europe. The staff spoke English and were generally friendly. Finally, the pricing was outstanding. We only paid 77 Euros per night--our cheapest stay in all of Italy.
CONS:
