This is a lovely property just inside the “city walls” (which no longer exist) of the city. It is walking distance from just about everything you would want to see in Bologna. I had room 206 which was very comfortable, with good lighting. There are about 6 wooden steps to reach the room, so it may not be good for... More

We stayed at this hotel for a week in November. It was very comfortable, the staff could not be more helpful, most speak English very well, they helped with restaurant recommendations, reservations and even helped us navigate printing our boarding passes as they were displayed in Italian. We enjoyed having the breakfast every morning, the cappuccino will be missed, it... More

We didn't come here expecting anything stunning, and we didn't get any surprises. BUT the hotel is clean, the staff are friendly and accommodating, and its only a 10 minute walk to the center of town. If you are going to enjoy the city, and want to be assured of a decent, well priced place to rest your head, I'd... More

The hotel is located in a residential area but is only a short walk from the city centre. It is well appointed, clean and comfortable. Parking is a available in their private garage for an additional small fee. Breakfast is served in a lovely garden room with a terrace with plenty of variety to choose from. The staff are very... I stayed in Bologna at this hotel based entirely on reviews from fellow travelers and reviewers at TripAdvisor. I admit I am a wuss when it comes to staying in properties that don’t have a modern aesthetic (read: new, visibly clean, white duvet cover and sheets). I also prefer walking or using metro to as much as possible, and staying... More

This hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the centre of town, and this is a very nice walk - Bologna is a lovely town and there's lots of interesting sights to see along the way. Our room was very quiet, on the ground floor, overlooking the lovely garden. Nice big comfortable bed. The bathroom was small, separate shower,... More

Now this is a gem. Marvelous. It is an old hotel, but in good shape. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Breakfast included and it is great with expresso coffee made to order by barista. We had room 402. Spacious, clean and comfortable. Large bathroom with spatub with shower over. Nice walk to centre, about 10 mins. Highly recommended. Bologna... More

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Porta San Mamolo for four nights and we were very satisfied indeed by it and it's delightful staff. From booking to payment and arranging a taxi, everything went perfectly. The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable and the breakfast very good indeed. Staff were helpful in the extreme and the location of... More

I spent 4 night at this hotel with my two daughters. A wonderful experience, good breakfast, very helpful staff! The front desk staff where available any time for help, all where very polite and helpful. Breakfast was decent - good coffee ( free - Espresso, Cappuccino, Americano), cakes, eggs, good quality fruits.

we stayed for three nights in September and we absolutely loved it because ALL the staff were just so helpful and approachable. Nothing was too much trouble and they definitely deserve 10/10 for customer service. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the room had everything we could need. Would stay there again.
