Porta San Mamolo was like a home away from home, the staff are unlike any i've ever experienced before as they were very helpful and went out of there way to make sure everything was great. The hotel and rooms were very relaxing and comfortable. It is in the main city centre just a short 5 minutes walk to the... more

We have stayed in this hotel twice during our trip in Italy and we could not be happier with it.Everything was so nice and the staff was just wonderful. At the arrival we found a bottle of wine in our room and outside in the splendid balcony there were candles lit and flowers ..I think because of the notes we... more

A lovely hotel on the edge of the old part of Bologna - just five minutes or so into the centre. We chose this place on the basis of Trip Advisor recommendations, and people were right. Our room was large; elegantly furnished with super facilities. Breakfast was very good - lots of choice, lovely food. We found the staff to... more

All the reviews praising this hotel were spot on. From the minute you arrive the staff are very frlendly and give good advice about where to eat, how to get to places and what to avoid. Our room was a good size and not too horribly hot as you often get in the winter in hotels. more

Roberto is a wonderful host, most helpful in every way. Room very nice and clean, just off the garden. Stayed for just one night; would definitely recommend if you want to be away from the city center. more

We've been there on summer 2009. It is a quite and clean place with good rooms and service within 3 minutes walk of San Petronio and near the Park. We are going to come to Bologna again and stay there. We would like to think all the staff members for their hospitality. Maxim&Natalia, Saint-Petersburg, Russia more

The Hotel Porta San Mamolo is located within a 15 - 20 min. walk of the historic district of Bologna. The staff is very helpful and speaks English perfectly. Although the rooms are small by American standards and the beds are a bit too firm, the rooms are clean and decorated nicely. The breakfast area is the most pleasing and... more

This is a beautiful small hotel, where the rooms are lovingly designed to fit around the old buildings. Many look onto the pretty interior gardens. It's located on a very quiet side street in the picturesque old part of town, an easy walk to all the sights. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had an enormous room, really a... more

This hotel is centrally located in a beautiful residential area close to all the sights. Our room was lovely with a large, renovated bathroom. The hotel recommended a restaurant right down the street and it was outstanding. Please do take their recommendations. Of note, this was a quiet time of year and our family was one of very few staying... more
