Stayed for 3 nights as part of a conference. Check in and check out were smooth, staff spoke perfect English and were extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms had charms with floral wall paper and beams on the ceiling. My room had a small window with fantastic view of the roof tops! bed was very comfortable. No stand-up shower in the... more

This hotel was not luxury - but it wan't a hostel. Room was good ( not great ), no bugs ( as a previous reviewer claimed ), location was excellent, breakfast OK, air conditioning was barely adequate. Driving to the hotel was very dificult. Streets are old, narrow, and not well marked. However once we finally found the hotel they... more

I liked the hotel very much...great location and good service...but I woke early in the morning with red welts that itched like mad. The red welts looked suspiciously like bedbug bites, so I looked very carefully at my suitcase when I unpacked after the trip, and I found a bedbug in it. I did not see bugs in the hotel... more

Very good location for exploring central Bologna, overall facilities were fine. Very floral rooms that could do with a refit but spacious with large but basic ensuite. We were lucky enough to be on the top floor with a little terrace overlooking the city which was a bonus. Good hotel for tourists planning to enjoy Bologna, not really for honeymooners. more

Very comfortable stay at the Hotel Roma in October 2007. Comfortable bed with a nice big bathroom, very clean room, helpful staff. Great location - wonderful for walkers - just south of Piazza Maggiore with a good selection of restaurants, shops, cafes and gelato nearby (Grom next door has terrific gelato). My room overlooked Via d'Azeglio in the front, and... more

Wonderful location, smack in the center, in a nice shopping street, closed to traffic. the hotel will arrange the permit to get to there with the car and then valet park it outside the pedestrian area (included in the price!). the room was wonderful, the bed even better... i was there only one night and regretted to leave. I had... more

We were supposed to stay 3 nights, but the hotel staff did not make us feel welcome. Lobby areas are large and somewhat elegant, but room was small. Bed was poor. Alley noise very loud. We found a hotel around the corner and moved. more

Great location, and wonderful "5-star" service. My parents and I showed up on a Fri afternoon with no reservations (in November). They set us up with a single and double adjacent rooms and very resonably priced parking. The gentleman at reception was extremely friendly and full of advice on where to go eat, have a drink, etc. We were late... more

We turned up at this hotel in the evening and got a good deal on the room rate and valet parking. Our room was big, clean and a good sized bathroom. Nothing to complain about. The Rough Guide says the decor is kitschy - I can see why, but we liked it as it was different from the same old... more

The service was fine at the Hotel Roma, but the noise from the alley below was too loud - even with earplugs. The chambermaids began cleaning adjacent rooms at 9 AM - also quite loudly. The location is perfect, however. more
