Stayed five nights at the Palace Hotel in April 2014. Absolutely fantastic. A superb hotel full of old world character. Very clean with a change of towels every day. Staff very helpful and professional. Breakfast excellent. Perfect location in lively city centre. WIFI in bedroom was good.

Ok, so in Bologna for a business trip. I had a meeting close by so I found this place. It looked promising on booking.com. When we got there, it was a whole different story. The hotel is very old and has probably never been refurbished since the begining of the last century (by statement of the receptionist), when it was... More

It's a great situation as far as Bologna is concerned, but it is in serious need of refurbishment. The owners are doing nothing to improve more or less everything. It's not cheap but could just about pass for a backpackers hostel. Pretty dirty, carpets are totally worn out, breakfast miserable, nothing really works and the service is slow, amicable but... More

I choose this hotel because of the location - in the very center, but on the little street, where there are not many tourists and drunk teenagers (bologna is a student city). Spacious lobby, nice machines on the every flour where it is possible to buy water or some sweets anytime) rather big room and a great deal for money

smell of dusty worn carpet greets you upon entering the hotel. more of this when u enter the room. no air conditioning in the rooms, no shower curtains. a real terrible experience. hotel is located nearest the Piazza de Sant Patronio and the twin towers. very close to the bus station but the rooms are creepy. cannot be recommended for... Cold showers, a shower that was also a urinal (revolting), I couldn't wash my hair in 2 days because there wasn't enough water coming out of the shower, no air conditioning, the movie theatre was next door so the room vibrated with the sound of the movie (action filmed are the worst) and not finishing until about 11pm, you had... I stayed in Hotel Palace four or five years ago and found it elegant and pleasant with an accommodating staff —I even recommended it to friends—but when I returned there this fall for one night along with two other guests, I was stunned at how much it's changed! We were given hideous, tiny rooms at the end of a winding... More

The name sounds promising, the location is great, however, the hotel needs a more than serious restoration in oder to crown itself "palace". Located in the very centre, a few steps from the main square, there is nothing bad to day about the location: just great. I imagine that the building was a palace some decades ago, but now...Mayor consequence... More

It's very central and the staff are pleasant and helpful. But that's it. The hotel is drab, in serious need of a refurbishment. We chose a city centre hotel in order to return during the day to freshen up and so on, but we had little inclination to do so. The breakfast room is dingy and depressing. The breakfast was... More

OK, I'm clutching at straws a little here, but to be fair this hotel is in a great location, very handy for the Piazza Maggiore. HOWEVER.......................... The name is an oxymoron, don't be fooled, it's far from palatial! Once you get past the acceptable reception area it all goes downhill very quickly. the rooms on the 5th floor are small,... More
