Location is perfect for exploring the old historic quarter of Bologna, being only one block behind the main avenue. The building itself is faded and the decor in the room definitely needs updating, hence the average rating. But personally that did not bother me and adds to the character of the hotel. It has the faded charm of an old... More

In its day, Hotel Palace would have been well regarded. It's pretty tired now. They seem to be struggling with bringing facilities up-to-date but we were happy with our room with its roughly tiled ensuite bathroom. Very well located with a short walk to everything that you'd want to see in Bologna. Undercover parking was inexpensive and worthwhile.

The price was really high regarding the rooms and what the hotel offers.Of course there was an exhibition in town but still the price did not reflect the overall experience. More specifically the room was pretty cold with inadequate heating. The breakfast was poor. On the other hand, the location is very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful... More

If you want a budget stay right in the city center, this is the hotel for you. It was clean, the staff was friendly, and it had an old-world feel to it that made it seem more "Italian," somehow. There were freshly baked croissants of various kinds every morning, and that was a definite plus. My room had a balcony... More

If you are looking for luxury, this is not it. If you are looking for decent accommodation that is inexpensive in the heart of Bologna then this is the place. I am not at all certain what other reviewers issues are. Rooms were fine. I stayed there 3 times in May and June 2014, three different single rooms. All had... More

This hotel need a serious update. I am definitely not picky when it comes to hotels and do not demand luxury. I have the "you get what you pay for" attitude. I like history and antiques so i prefer hotels with some patina and old style instead of the modern ones. But this was not antiques and history, this was... More

OK: the balance between cost and comfort is an equation called value. This hotel is not good value but it is cheap. The rooms do not look like the photos. Mine was cramped, dark, stuffy and overlooked an internal roof. I can live with that. But the air conditiong was so bad I needed to go out and buy a... More

This hotel was clearly a grande dame in its hey day and the quality from a bygone age is evident; beautiful details such as the painted ceilings, ornate plaster coving, rotating entrance door, wooden panelling and chandeliers would not be found in a cheap hotel let alone one so spacious and close to the historic centre. It's crying out to... More

The foyer seats were filthy and have cigarette burns in them as your welcome. The room was dirty with dust, marks, stains and with carpet that hadn't been vacuumed for years. The walls were covered in hessian which makes you itch like the bedspread does. The room was in an attic with a tiny window half boarded up so it's... More

Hotel was far away from train station. If you do not take a bus or sth like that the walking would be very difficult. But it is very near to historical center. Hotel have very very old furniture. The room was gloomy. Breakfast was very poor.
