My sister and I stayed here for three nights... The room was large and the bedlinen was very clean...but there was large amounts of stains on the carpet....why? The breakfast was ok...but if you didn't get there early most of it was gone...no fresh bread which is amazing for Italy !! Our room was at the front and was very... more

I only spent one night here for work reasons. I wasn't expecting much from the beginning and my expectations were fulfilled. The hall is nice and the girl at the reception was kind and helpful. My single room however was quite small and spartan (which was not really a problem). What I didn't like was the fact that there was... more

My husband and I stayed for two nights in May 2008--and because we had read it can be noisy, we asked for a room in the back. Our room overlooked the courtyard--and noise was not a problem at all. The room was clean, large, and bright. The service at the desk, and by email prior to our arrival, was extremely... more

I stayed in the Accademia because of its location. It is central to many of the major attractions of Bologna. The staff was very friendly. However, the room I was given did not have a good air-conditioning system and the bathroom was quirky. The shower was in the middle of the room (see photo). more

Pro: Hotel Acaademia has a very good location, 5minutes walk into the city centre. The building is beautiful and the staff were very friendly. Massive bathroom and beds. Breakfast was OK, price was reasonable. Cons: at the check-in desk, the staff insists on taking and keeping our passport sovernight and said that we can only have our passports back the... more

We returned to Bologna and Hotel Accademia to find it newly renovated. While it is now more "generic" in look, it was nice to have the renovated bath. We had the same room (overlooking the court yard--streetside rooms can be quite noisy as this is the student quarter)) as 10 years previously. All was clean. The "personal" service we received... more

The Accademia is a decent hotel - comfortable and clean, but nothing special. I might have even liked it, but found our room a bit dark and depressing. It was street-facing, so also a little noisy, but no problem with the windows closed. Court-yard facing rooms are available. The hotel is in the University district, so there are lots of... more

I was grateful to get a room at the Accademia during a trade fair when rooms are hard to come by. But boy, a streetside room at the Accademia, which overlooks the university quarter's Via delle Belle Arti, is like sleeping at the train station. The bed was a depressing, middle-sagging mess. The breakfast: where else in Bologna can you... more
