Conviently situated in the centre of the old town and a few minuets from the main square. This hotel is small but offers al the main facilities you would expect from a 4 star hotel .Although this hotel is rated as 4 star i would only give it 3.5 stars, the service was good but the breakfast is served in... This is a well-run hotel in an airy and cheerful space. While the lobby is small and unassuming, the hotel provides all the amenities for an enjoyable visit. Our room was bright with an Olivetti typewriter theme. It was clean and spacious (by European standards). Breakfast was not included but it was available at the small restaurant (osteria) inside the... More

This was my 2nd trip to Bologna. It has now become a ritual to visit the city for the Irrigation and Agriculture Machinery exhibition held every two years. The hotel is right next to the main plaza in the town. Ideal for a stroll after a hectic day. Staff is very helpful. The rooms are small but I guess it's... More

We recently spent four nights at Al Capello Rosso. The location (1.5 blocks from Piazza Maggiore) cannot be beaten. The front desk staff provided great advice on best local restaurants as well as information on which was open on what night to help us plan! Breakfast in the connected Osteria was quite good. We were in a room that was... More

We recently spent 7 nights at Al Cappello Rosso. What a wonderful Hotel to stay in to explore Bologna. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful to us. We enjoyed the food and ambience in the adjoining Osteria del Cappelle.. We stayed in the Typewriting Room which was very comfortable. We felt very much "at home" staying at... More

Excellent location, small rooms, funny decor, chocolate on pillow every night, complimentary teas in room, nice four-star touches for a not-so-four-star building. It's a very nice hotel in an extremelly good location but not a luxury hotel.

My daughter and I stayed at the Cappello Rosso hotel for three nights whilst staying in Bologna and loved it there. The hotel couldn't be any more central than it was - literally just a stone's throw away from Piazza Maggiore and the rooms were spotless and very comfortable. There even were tea and coffee making facilities in the room... More

Picked this hotel largely on the basis of its location and we weren't disappointed - its an absolutely ideal location for exploring Bologna. The service from reception was super - they were so helpful. They provide an excellent map and instructions how to get around. We had a really nice double room with a super bathroom - really clean, well... More

Stayed here for three nights and wish i could have stayed longer. Just a stone's throw from the buzzing main square, the rooms were spotlessly clean; staff exceptionally helpful and a great Italian breakfast buffet was served. Room facilities were ample with a reasonably priced mini bar and tea/ coffee making facilities - the pillow menu was the icing on... More

Dear Guest, thanks for your review: we are glad you appreciated the hotel and you had a nice stay. Stayed 1 week in the pink room. Bed was great, air conditioning was excellent (rare in Italy). The restaurant next door offered gluten-free options and soy milk for breakfast, and dinner was very good too (I had tortellini and a cutlet which was larger than the dinner plate). Strong wi-fi signal. Staff was very helpful and professional. Located nearby to... More
