This is a great hotel situated near the city center but outside the limited traffic zone. We actually stayed in one of several apartments they have. Ours was about 300 meters from the hotel proper toward the center of town (Piazza Maggiore), which was about a 10 minute walk. We loved the convenience of having an apt with a small... more

Good clean apartments in a large building a short walk from the station. An interesting lift part of the experience (5th floor so not one for those who dont like small old lifts!) OK breakfast but good value and easy walk into the centre of Bologna. Would return for the right price! more

I stayed in Bologna for a week in January of 2008. The Astoria is a nice clean hotel that is convenient to the train station and also the central city sites. Everything within walking distance. The hotel staff is very friendly and most front desk staff have some English. The hotel has many ammenities like free bike rental and tours,... more

Stayed here for 4 nights recently after escaping the torrential rain of the North! We were backpacking across Italy at the time and had brought with us our soaking wet tent! Thankfully regardless of our appearance the staff were friendly and even let us hang our tent to dry in the cellar! Room was ok, but bathroom was a bit... more

I had a very bad experience at Hotel Astoria. My beautiful jacket was stolen from me! For my overnight stay, I hung my jacket up in the wardrobe so it would not crease. The following day when I checked out, it was a very hot day so in a rush I forgot my jacket. That evening, I rang and spoke... more

Run-down rooms, lousy cleaning, on and off (loud) air conditioning and a very meagre breakfast pretty much sum up this hotel. On the positive side it’s nicely situated on a quiet backstreet close to the city centre and the staff seems pleasant. Some rooms also had a balcony (not ours) which seemed nice. If you come by train it is... more

We only had one night here, but it was great. We stayed in one of the hotel's apartments, about a 10 minute walk from the actual hotel. The only inconvenience is the distance for checking in and out, and taking advantage of the breakfast (which we skipped). The apartment had great air conditioning, comfortable beds, large bathroom, and servicable small... more

We visited the Astoria for 3 nights in August 2005. We originally booked an apartment for 2 persons which is a 10 minutes´ walk from the main building (about 500 m. in the direction of the city centre). When we arrived the lady at the desk, told us that instead of the apartment we could also have a double room... more
