This is a great hotel if you are travelling by train as it is right opposite the train station. At 65 euros (doesn't include breakfast - this is 10 euros per person) a night it was the cheapest hotel on our 3 weeks of travelling around Northern Italy. 5-10mins walk to the centre of town and i would reccommend the... more

Price paid per night: 65 euros (prepaid online special) Would I stay again for the price? Yes Would I recommend it for the price? Yes The good: - location, especially if using trains - staff, recommended some really good places to eat - large room, and we got a jasmine lined terrace with ours! - free bottles of water in... more

Average hotel, great location. The lobby looks great, but our rooms were very dated. They were very large for European standard, so that was a nice change. Good hotel for the price. Would probably go elsewhere if I were to stay in Bologna again more

We stayed two nights at the Mercure Hotel in Bologna City Center. It was an old world hotel but very comfortable and clean. The room was quite large, modern bathroom, helpful staff. The hotel is located in the heart of the city, right across the street from the train station and near all the city center sights and shopping. We... more

We secured an outstanding rate for the Mercure Bologna Centro, and when we arrived we had realistic expectations - for around 50 euros a night in a city centre, perhaps the rooms are miniscule, or the decor is faded. Neither turned out to be true - rooms were immaculately clean and richly furnished in a conventionally comfortable style, they were... more

We only stayed here one night on our way to somewhere else. The hotel is obviously geared towards business travellers, but we found it fine for this. It is in an easy and convenient location, across the road from the train station but not much of a walk into the main part of the town either. When we first arrived... more

Superb hotel. Fantastic location - easy access to city, train station and central bus station (easiest way to Forli and Ryanair flights). Clean rooms. Only issue was they didn't get very cool because air conditioning was weak. But it was still comfortable! Breakfast is extra and we didn't indulge. Don't get a coffee near the hotel - it'll cost you... more

We have just returned from a long weekend in Florence and Bologna, staying in Mercure Centro for one night only. We chose the Mercure because of its proximity to the train and coach stations as the stopover was intended to ease the journey back to Forli airport, from where we were flying back to the UK early in the morning.... more

I spent 45 E/night for the hotel, as I booked and pay in advance (via their web site). For this price, it was very convenient, and the overall quality is acceptable. Furniture is a bit old, the air conditioning is both noisy (it costantly wakes me up early in the morning) and relatively cooling (I guess it's blocked to save... more

Hotels in Italy are not cheap and may have poor quality. At this hotel I got a good size double room /single use for 80 euros/night with buffet breakfast. It has a very nice private garden on the back that you see from the windows of the bedrooms facing that way. Very clean, tidy and pleasently decorated. Everything you need... more
