The Mercure is opposite the rail station and the airport bus stops nearby.A functional business hotel with good rates in the summer. The rooms outer may be a bit noisy but the inner ones overlooking a old established garden are tranquill. The reception staff were exceptional and could not be more helpfull. All the major sights are within 30 minutes walk and... more

For the price, this hotel did not really thrill me. 80 euro per night + 10 each for breakfast and 25 for parking. It is right across the road from the train station and around the corner from the Hertz office where we picked up our car. Breakfast was your usual continental fare with a couple of hot dishes added... more

The Mercure Centro is your standard business hotel, so nothing outstanding and no real Italian charm, however, it is reasonably modern, clean and is ideally located directly across the street from the train station and a nice 20-minute walk to the the main piazza. What you see on the web site is pretty much what you get. All in all,... more

.. if we had stayed or not. Reception staff on the surly & unhelpful side to say the least. Rooms small though clean but showing some signs of wear. Location good for old city (15 mins walk to Piazza Maggiore) & rail travel to Parma, Modena etc.. more

We stayed only one night here, and for the price we got (about 50E) it was adequate value. For people traveling by train, it is a good location. The lobby is cool and pleasant. The rooms, though, were very dated and tatty, and the air conditioning was insufficient in the heat of summer. A staff person checked it and cleaned... more

It was across the street from the train station which brought in a lot of transient people and urine smelling streets. It was a little difficult finding the hotel when driving and also parking wasn't convenient. For the price the room was adequate and large with great air conditioning. more

Lobby was nice, rooms were a bit old, but still ok. Considering I paid double what I paid here for worse in many cities in Italy/Switzerlan, this was good deal. a/c worked which was great as it was SO hot when we were there. more

My favorite part of this hotel was that it was directly across the street from the train station. We only stayed here for one night, so it certainly was sufficient for our needs. I was impressed by the look of the common areas. It also had a nice bar and had many people socializing in the lobby. However, when we... more

This is a great hotel if you are travelling by train as it is right opposite the train station. At 65 euros (doesn't include breakfast - this is 10 euros per person) a night it was the cheapest hotel on our 3 weeks of travelling around Northern Italy. 5-10mins walk to the centre of town and i would reccommend the... more

Price paid per night: 65 euros (prepaid online special) Would I stay again for the price? Yes Would I recommend it for the price? Yes The good: - location, especially if using trains - staff, recommended some really good places to eat - large room, and we got a jasmine lined terrace with ours! - free bottles of water in... more
