The converted convent hotel right across the Palazzo Ducale - what can be better! Just step out of the door - and you are in the middle of everything! I could not be happier with the choice of hotel in Urbino. Maybe their beds are a bit hard, but this is normal in Europe. It is to be expected.

My husband was in the area for a class he took for a week which included wonderful activities throughout the week so I came along. Urbino is beautiful. It has many great restaurants cafes and shops. The staff here are wonderful. I cannot say enough about the breakfasts. What a spread! The rooms are actually large for European rooms. The... More

A one night stay in a lovely hotel located in the heart of Urbino, opposite the Ducale Palace and the Duomo: the location could not be better. Secure parking in the otherwise traffic restricted city is invaluable. Staff helpful and friendly, and obviously take great pride in their city. Room (junior suite) was spacious and comfortable and breakfast plentiful and... More

right opposite the Duke's palace, there are bars and restaurants all around the hotel. We were there for the festival of the Duke which was magical. Urbino transformed itself into a medieval walled town (which architecturally it still is,) with all the locals in costume, flags everywhere, archery, markets etc. It was fabulous. The breakfast at the hotel was amazingly... More

The Albergo San Domenico is a very nice hotel located in a converted convent in the medieval/Renaissance town of Urbino. Centrally located (if centrally means anything in this town of 15,000 inhabitants) across form the Ducal Palace, the hotel gives you access to everything this charming town as to offer. The staff of the hotel are both friendly and competent.... More

Overpriced ! €250 for a large room (3beds). Room was generous comfy sized w high ceilings but too warm on a hot August day w a tiny AC that worked all night to get the temp from 26.5 to 24 C. Extra firm beds made us feel like sleeping on wood planks. Breakfast was included in a somewhat deserted and... More

On the plus side, fantastic location and secure parking and one really cheerful receptionist. Hotel looks a little tired though spotlessly clean. No air conditioning until we asked for it. Wifi flakey. Have restaurant in 'sister' hotel, but when we arrived there it was closed for the week but our staff were unaware of this.

Nice bedrooms and breakfast with a lot of choices! In the center of Urbino, very close to the universities and the cathedral! Bella camera da letto e la colazione era abbondante! In centro di Urbino!!

A Disappointment This hotel was the most expensive on our recent long trip to Italy and the only disappointment. We agree with other reviewers that the hotel's 4-star category is unjustified. In our case, our room's air conditioning had to be turned on and regulated by reception, and it worked only sporadically until late on our second hot day when... More

The hotel is a beautiful old covenant in the best location in town... opposite the Palazzo Ducale... But the hotel is not looked after and how they have 4 stars "superior" is a mystery. Rooms and common areas are old fashion 1980's Italian hotels... albeit our room 116 was large but dated. Bathroom can only be described as functional and... More
