This place is fantastically located right outside Roma Termini station..So it takes barely 2mins to reach out after getting off from the airport shuttle..the room was we'll spaced out and hygienic..It could easily qualify as a decent 3-star hotel room..staff was courteous enough to provide us take-away breakfast as we checked out at 4.30 am for an early morning flight... The proximity of all the attractions one wants to see, the room, the staff, the price - everything was great. The option of having breakfast delivered to your room was a nice surprise, too. The area around Termini is not the nicest in the city, but me and my friend really didn't mind, and we didn't feel unsafe. I would... More

We had a warm welcome from the lady who is on desk-duty in the day time. We were surprised to be shown to No. 24 Carlo Cattaneo, and concluded that the hostel has increased in size due to its well-deserved popularity. We were free to come and go as we pleased, as we had our own set of keys, and... More

My friend & I stayed there for 3 nights. It was very close to the train station which was nice but the area wasn't very nice so walking around was a bit uncomfortable, especially at night. No one touched us or tried to hurt us; it was just a sketchy neighborhood. The staff is sooooo nice and helpful all the... More

Had a room on the fifth floor and it was lovely, very clean and pretty rooms. The staff were lovely and really helpful too and they brought breakfast to you in bed in the mornings. It is right next to the train station which is handy if you have a lot of bags, however that is also a slightly rough... More

I've just returned from travelling around Europe with my boyfriend and two other friends, and this was our first stop. It's situated a street away from the Termini Station which was really helpful as it's the main station around that area. The staff were really friendly and helpful people, and we even got breakfast sent to our room at any... More

Situated near the termini station, so very handy for getting around Rome (metro, tour bus etc) and to other parts of Italy. The surrounding area is a little rough around the edges though, but this wasn't an issue for us. The room we were given was good, however we booked a double and got a twin. We effectively had our... Stayed with 5 friends in a private apartment style room with bathroom and kitchen, it was great! Very close to termini station, so not in the best area of town (we avoided at night for the most part). Not too far of a walk from most attraction but Rome is pretty big. Good wifi connection and cleanliness, we loved having... More

Excellent very friendly service. Thank you! The room on the second floor was rather big and comfortable. Great location near the Termini station and Santa Maria Maggiore, Santa Prassede and Santa Pudenziana.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
