This is a small place, so when there’s yelling in the reception area on a daily basis, your rest is going to be impacted. Alas, we had the misfortune of learning why so many customers were getting into loud arguments with the otherwise friendly staff: this place is severely disorganised, and to cover up for this, they concoct stories that... Dear Client, the only thing that you can do it is to write a bad review....and this is not a problem to us, because this is a review made by two persons that leave a hotel whithout paying their bill....i'd not wanted to repond because for me your opinion has no value and all the persons that are reading this... I had a three night accommodation at this hotel in December 2014. My room was small even for one person. Tv, air condition, shower, private toilet and small mini refridgerator was included. Shower and bathroom was small but clean and quite nicely decorated. Room was also renovated but it was not comfy. Hotel location was ok. It was near but... More

The best choice! Very nice and helpful staff, each day. Large, clean room with a beautiful fresco. Unusual, but typical Roman hotel. Delicious coffee. Quiet, cosy and very close to the most important places. Large and comfortable bed. We hope to come back again soon! Thank you for everyone working at Auditorium di Mecenate!

The hotel has a convenient location and friendly staff. It was very clean and every day our bed was made and the bathroom - cleaned. As there was no dining room breakfast was brought literally to our bed. The one major setback was that we were given a very small room facing a closed inner yard, so we got no... More

Close to everything. The front desk guy was so helpful. It had ac but your room key has to be in for it to come on. It was very hot when we visited so we got an extra key and left it in the room otherwise we were too hot. Great little spot tho! Love it we would go back.

We had a lovely 4 night stay in October after finishing a tour that started in Paris and finished in Rome. The Auditorium di Mecenate was a refreshing change from the big name chain hotels we had stayed at on tour. This hotel is authentic and creates the atmosphere of genuine living in Rome. Small simply furnished room but clean,... More

This place is a bit hard to find if you don't know what you're looking for, but take a chance on it! It was the nicest and most modern hotel during our trip, and it was reasonable for the value and proximity to attractions! If you find yourself walking up and down the street it is located on looking for... More

Perfect location, only a 15 minute walk from the Colosseum and city centre and a 5 minute walk from the Metro with links to everywhere. The staff were incredibly helpful and advised of some fantastic restaurants to visit and good times to visit other attractions. Breakfast served in the room was a lovely treat too. If you can, ask for... More

Nice small hotel (bed & breakfast) near the Termini train / bus station - by foot, about 8 minutes, Colosseum by foot, about 15 minutes. Hotel itself is located on the 3rd floor of the building. The distance of the metro station is about 150 meters. The breakfast in bed was a little bit simple, but it is usual for... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
