This was a nice place to stay, 2 steps from the Panteon in an old historic building with marble staircases and original ceilings-lovely. Plenty of hot water and heating, and all the amenities for a short or long stay. The breakfast I could have done without- there was nothing fresh-not even a banana. We were all just dying for a... I made the mistake of first making the nonrefundable reservation, and then reading the reviews.... This ends up being a mixed review. I called the telephone number to be checked in on friday at 10:45 pm, they answered, and were attentive, they met us at the hotel without any problems, so that was very good. We had 9:30 tickets to... More

Room dirty and cleaned every 3 days, bathroom very dirty, building in state of disrepair. Breakfast terrible, no windows to the outside. Air Conditioning was not working, nor the TV. This is not a hotel, but 2 apartments on 1st and 2nd floor of an old dirty building above a smelly and noisy courtyard. No reception, no staff on duty... More

After reading some reviews over this B&B online I was nervous to book it. But all nervousness was for nothing. It is a cheap, clean, roomy accommodation in a top location. When you arrive you have to call them (phone number is on their doorbell) and they will come within 15 minutes as they do not have a lobby. Our... More

We booked the B&B, then I read reviews on trip advisor, and started to panic..... But it wasn't as people made out. The hotel arranged for someone to pick us up from the airport, which I found a real help. The building is old, and a little worn down, but, still a lovely old traditional building. The owner was pleasant... More

There are some good and bad things about this hotel. I'll start with the bad and end on a positive note. Bad ~ the room was up some very steep wooden steps and felt like we were entering the attic, bathroom was very small and the shower was disgusting and tiny. There was a very little windows but to see... More

We received what we expected. Very good location, flexible staff (they let us to leave there our luggage after checkout, we arrived with a late flight and there was no problem to check in in the middle of the night). Not a fancy hotel, but it is perfect for a city break. We had a clean room with a comfortable... More

I arrived to find a dark room with no windows. It was raining, the room was chilly, so looked for extra blankets in the closet. They were stained with food or..? Clearly, not washed. I asked for fresh blankets. A man came, threw a wrinkled cloth on the bed and said( in Italian) smell THIS and see if it stinks.... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
