Roman Villa Silj is an outstanding and dazzling place to spend any stay in Rome. We took our eighth-grade students for an educational trip and it proved the perfect location because of its privacy but also connectedness to the city, however I would absolutely return for a private vacation with friends or family. The staff looked after our needs and... More

We stayed in Villa Silj and it was beautiful. It is only a short distance outside of Rome no need to hire a car as owner has minibus to take or collect you.The local bus stops right outside the gate. A beautiful villa with every thing you need. We went with 7 adults, 1 teenager, 1 toddler and baby plenty... More

We stayed in Mezzaluna and it was great ( a lot of privacy, cool because it is in the shadow, quiet ) We went to Italy to visit Rome. Well, we couldn't find better. The villa is 5 minutes from the metrostation and within 15 minutes you are in the center of Rome. When we came back from bussy Rome,... More

We stayed in the West Wing of Villa Silj for seven days this past June. (Two familes with a total of four children.) We found the villa to be a step back in time: rustic and tranquil. We used the villa as a home base to travel back & forth into Rome and it worked out well. (It’s roughly 40... More

We were looking for a place to stay near Rome that was close enough to the historic center but far enough that we could relax and quickly recover from jet lag as we began our Summer-long stay in Italy. We found the Villa Silj to be such a place. The location was perfect. It is not far off the GRA... More

The location is very good for Rome if you do not mind travelling on the bus and train. It was lovely to come back to Villa Silj after a day in Rome as it was always quite a bit cooler and the swimming pool was great. The accommodation is basic but functional. The owner and his family were great hosts,... More

Villa Silj is quintessentially Roman in all the best senses. It is located right outside of Rome (a short commuter train ride to the gate near the Piazza del Populo). The host, Bernard Anson, fondly named Dado, could not have been more kind and helpful in every respect. His is very learned and willing to enrich your stay in ways... More

The gardens and pool were great, the villa was very beautiful in a faded grandeur type way. The furniture was alittle worn and basic in places but that was fine as 7 children and antiquities dont mix. Location good for easy access to Rome on the train, the atmosphere was very relaxed and owners unobtrusive but very helpful. Good for... More

We planned to celebrate our wedding party on the Villa Silj. I discussed all important things with Bernard one year ago and wrote one summary so that nothing could be missed and send him. We did most of them by ourselves. We made the whole decoration for the garden ceremony and send all stuff my DHL package delivery. We ordered... More

Located just outside Rome this is a great place for a family. The management is flexible and a trifle eccentric. The owner is liable to thrust his latest book into your hands. Service and cleanliness are variable. Price is affordable and children can play in the garden More
