Rome is notoriously expensive, but this time we struck lucky. A city centre location with immaculate bedroom and bathroom and a fabulous breakfast with truly considerate restaurant staff. I accompanied my husband on a business trip and the location is perfect for walking to the Spanish Steps and Villa Borghese... if you are wearing walking shoes, of course. The Metro... More

As seems to happen so frequently with this hotel, they actually stuck us in the less-expensive Veneto Hotel next door. It is hard to believe this is still because of the same computer problems that were blamed a long time ago so I have to wonder why they continue to do this to people. It is not clear to me... More

We stayed at The Romanico Palace for 3 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We booked a suite with whirlpool bath hoping for something special! We even contacted the hotel a few days before we travelled to make sure we had a whirlpool bath because of some of the previous negative reviews. We got an email straight back confirming yes... We have just returned from spending our honeymoon in Rome and spent 5 nights in the Romanico Palace Hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were so friendly from the moment we walked into the hotel, they made dinner reservations for us on several nights and nothing seemed too much trouble. We had a deluxe room and had... More

6 of us with a small group tour had reservations for 3 nites including breakfast. The front desk staff was so unfriendly, surly even, whenever we requested anything. Located near the embassy area, we felt perhaps American tourists were not their first choice. Rooms were petite but breakfast was fabulous so I only gave this a poor. Use only if... More

We stayed here for 4 nights last week. On reading the reviews I was worried the room wouldn't be nice so I paid for an upgrade to a deluxe room. Just as well, the room was ok size (due to having 2 beds, we only needed one) I can't imagine what the classic room was like. We weren't that bothered... More

Booked the room via e-bookers. According to description:" The Classic Roman can be defined as a calm oasis in the heart of Rome. It faces the inner patio of the Romanico Palace hotel; a silent and welcoming room, sophisticated in its carved and hand decorated furniture, studied and planned thinking of to the real requirements of the modern traveller. Booked a trip via LM.C and this hotel was on offer. Was initially put off by some reviews but went for it and very pleased I did. Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
