Likes: Great balcony (we watched the NY fireworks! So much fun), shower was wonderful water pressure and heat duration, location good as ancient wall can be seen and metro, bus, etc. across the street and most sites are easy to get to; towels and linens clean and comfy, and best: The staff is great - Valentina is wonderfully nice &... This not a 4 star hotel. It was not clean! There was wall food stains on it (I hope those were food..) Shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. Toilet was dirty... This probably should be 2 star at most. The location was not good either. The area was dirty & further out of the city.

My first impression of this hotel was the lovely entrance way. We walked from the Terminal with our luggage & it was a fair walk but quite easy, almost straight through to the hotel. The hotel was located on a corner & had a convenience store, where we purchased our bus tickets, lovely restaurants, & tram/ buses directly outside. Bus... More

First of all: the hotel is far from the center of Rome. You can catch a train or a bus in front of the hotel to visit the city. But you CAN'T go by foot. The neighborhood is "strange" (I don't know if it is dangerous, it didn't feel unsafe, but it is a poor not a touristic zone) The... More

The receptionists are nice and friendly , always smiling and always ready to give us advice and help our needs . I highly recommend because our experience has been positive .

This hotel is absolutely amazing. The staff are fantastic and we could not want more from a hotel in Rome. The room was more that what the pictures show! It's in walking distance from the metro with the tram like right outside. We would highly recommend it We shall be returning :)

I'm not sure why there are so many good reviews for this hotel. We stayed here one night as we were traveling through Rome. It's in a very questionable neighborhood not close to anything. The rooms are very small (something I'm accustomed to in Europe) but they were filthy. The shower didn't drain and the wifi didn't work at all.... More

Visited this hotel for 2nights and thank god it was only two nights, the room cups where dirty, carpet burnt marks, towels looked like sheets, the reception ladies where very helpful and kind. i would only recommend this for the location. The breakfast was rubbish.

Great hotel... not the most centrally located to all the tourist stuff but close to the train station and where locals actually live and do things. Great room; breakfast was good; people were friendly. if you are in rome for a couple of days and dont want to lug luggage too far or take a cab too far from the... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
