First of all: the hotel is far from the center of Rome. You can catch a train or a bus in front of the hotel to visit the city. But you CAN'T go by foot. The neighborhood is "strange" (I don't know if it is dangerous, it didn't feel unsafe, but it is a poor not a touristic zone) The... More

the family-run hotel is clean , convenient and comfortable . quaint with the Roman walls in the reception ... really nice !!! The receptionists are nice and friendly , always smiling and always ready to give us advice and help our needs . I highly recommend because our experience has been positive .

This hotel is absolutely amazing. The staff are fantastic and we could not want more from a hotel in Rome. The room was more that what the pictures show! It's in walking distance from the metro with the tram like right outside. We would highly recommend it We shall be returning :)

I'm not sure why there are so many good reviews for this hotel. We stayed here one night as we were traveling through Rome. It's in a very questionable neighborhood not close to anything. The rooms are very small (something I'm accustomed to in Europe) but they were filthy. The shower didn't drain and the wifi didn't work at all.... More

Visited this hotel for 2nights and thank god it was only two nights, the room cups where dirty, carpet burnt marks, towels looked like sheets, the reception ladies where very helpful and kind. i would only recommend this for the location. The breakfast was rubbish.

Great hotel... not the most centrally located to all the tourist stuff but close to the train station and where locals actually live and do things. Great room; breakfast was good; people were friendly. if you are in rome for a couple of days and dont want to lug luggage too far or take a cab too far from the... More

Stayed two nights - 21 April and 5th May 2015. Had room on first floor facing the street first night with a lovely view of the area. 2,000+ year old wall. The second night we have a room (#12) above the entrance and the view was not as good. Trams and busses stop almost at the front door connecting you... More

The Hotel is not huge, but has everything you need and is clean and well run. The staff are very nice and always friendly and helpful. The breakfast is continental but more than adequate to start the day. The Hotel is located close to station, trams etc and is very noisy even during the night, but we kept the windows... More

I will say the best of this hotel is the staff. Very friendly people that likes to help you with whatever you need. The rooms are not big not small just a regular size, I liked the fact that the mattress is firm. I was okay with the noise at night, but my husband did hear some noise from the... More

I would like to start off by saying that this is the first hotel I have ever stayed in out of the U.S. So some of this may be ok but just different for me. I'm from Charlotte NC but the noise level is really high to me. The noise from within the hotel is 0 but the street noise... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
