Our room was on ground floor, just after the front door of the building; it consisted of a bedroom, a small living room with a table and a minibar, a bathroom and a tiny terrace. Food and drink were provided for breakfast. The floor wasn't very clean and the whole place had a light mold smell. However, location was great,... More

Comfortable clean b&b in vibrant trastevere area within walking distance to main attractions and restaurants. Very accommodating helpful owner. Quiet location but pizzeria opposite handy after a days sightseeing. Would be happy to return

We spent our nights in "venti sei scalini a Trastevere" during our this year's visit of Italy's capital. The location of the B&B is perfect, in the middle of the nightlife district of Rome with its countless bars and restaurants. Most of the sights of Rome can be reached easily by foot. The rooms are clean (indeed they get cleaned... More

This B&B is well located. We visited Roma by foot. When we arrived (around noon), we called the owner to get into the room. A man came 20 min after. He showed us our room (Musica). Well located because we did not have the street below. I think the Poeta room could be noisy with the restaurant ouside (Dar Poeta).... More

Staying at the Ventisei Scalini B&B in the Trastevere area of Roma is great! Is it away from the tourist spots and has the great local environment. There are plenty of restaurants and local markets close by. The room was always clean, the AC was perfect, and we could also make our own meals and have our breakfast with Italian... More

Very good location and very clean B&B. They answer all my questions by email. They deliver what they promised. Warm reception and very good hints about local restaurants! We will come back for sure! Marcelo

The room was perfect for two person, Trastevere area is what we were looking for having fun, close to some very nice place. I can suggest it for young couple or friends!! The main problem is the neighbour. The owners instead are two nice person.

We stayed here for our last night in Italy. We were very happy with it -- great location and quite comfortable. It is 26 steps up in a neighbourhood building, so you have Roman neighbours all around you, not tourists. There are 3 rooms, with a shared common room. Our room, which overlooked a quiet courtyard, was not large but... More

My stay at the B&B was perfect, really -- great location, terrific amenities -- everything you need for a few days in Rome. I stayed in the Room Poeta, and enjoyed waking up in the morning and opening the beautiful windows to the street below. Great shower, bathroom adjoining -- and easy to access when I arrived. Overall, great experience!!

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
