The promised service never was received because the people at the place never recognize the reservation and the money payed both made through HOSTEL WORLD so in the hurry we accept to pay more (It was no cheap and no receipt) we take the room without hope to fix the problem and after two nights ran out. Hope anybody end... More

We stayed here for 4 nights and it was really 2 or 3 nights too many. The place is bearable and it was ok for us because we spent the vast majority of each day visiting sites, seeing friends and going out for food and drinks. There are no plug sockets in the rooms, we had a lot of problems... More

Checked in and was told we had to leave for 4 hours. This hostel is run by a family ( i think they wanted the place to themselves for the duration of that time). We were literally run out of the place 10 min. after checking in. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom for hours. The "staff" is... More

The only good thing about this hostel is stepping outside of it and being in Rome. If you don´t care about it being, clean, comfortable, safe or quiet, stay here because its cheaper than others. There is no one in reception to help you,or give you a room, we had to leave our stuff there in the middle of people... More

We ended up in Ciao Bella's because there was a double booking at the hostel we actually booked. We were "welcomed" by the sentence: hello, I'm sure I've seen you before. Later one we discovered our hosts smoked and partied in the lounge while they have forbidden it to us and a bunch of friends stayed over in the coaches... More

We stayed here in 2008 and despite booking two beds, we had to share one for a night! Apart from that, the hostel wasn't as bad as some of the previous reviews testify. Having said that, I can understand the property might be hit or miss. Rome is a beautiful city so if you just need somewhere to sleep so... More

I was very worried as I read all these reviews after I had booked for myself and 2 friends to stay in Ciao Bella.... However, there was no need! It was more than adequate and acceptable! I am not sure what people expect from a hostel, for the prices they paid, but if they want luxuries, en suites, lockers/safes etc,... More

Apart from moderately friendly staff this place is rough. The rooms have no locks, there are no lockers for your stuff. The washroom facilities are the worst I've ever seen, random showers, brutal toilets and no working sockets in the room. The common room is ok but there are beds just off this room separated only by curtains. The front... More

Rome is my final destination for my entire Europe trip and also the most disappointed one, all attributed to the terrible experience I've had with Ciao Bella Hostel. I found this hostel from Hostelworld.com and noticed that the hostel was quite high rated and well recommended by other tourists. Sadly, Hostelworld.com shown no room availability for my arrival date. I... More
