The room was new, clean and located in a building behind the Guest House. A little dark because facing a backyard but therefore no traffic noise. No problem sleeping with open windows. The bathroom is cramped inside the room and has a poor ventilation, but it was clean and the shower was working well. The matresses seemed pretty new, but... More

Very good location: 400m. to Termini; ~1km to Colloseum; Santa Maria Maggiore church is next door. We used metro only to travel to Vatican. Everything else is very near. Even 2 supermarkets (~50m.). How to find B&B Maggiore I suggest to use Google Street view ( http://bit.ly/16DHvJt ). You must know how the door looks as there is no signs.... More

This hotel is directly opposite Santa Maria Basilica. It is approximately 10mins walk from the Colosseum, but otherwise on the outskirts of the hustle and bustle of Rome, approximately 20mins walk into the heart of the city. There is no breakfast, save for a price to can pay to eat at the cafe downstairs (this price is inflated). One staff... More

The location for this B&B was perfect, we spent days walking around Rome and only used the train once. It is located very close to the coliseum! The room are a bit dated but clean and perfect for a short stay. Rome is Beautiful!

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
