We actually travelled in June 2011, so this review may well be irrelevant as things could have drastically changed. However, if you'll indulge me, I'll assume that it hasn't and that it's owned and run by the same people. First things first - location. For me, if you're going to Rome this the most important thing for a Hotel as... More

We stayed at this hotel last summer. The location was great. It was a little walk to the subway and a short walk to the Colosseum. The hotel is run by really friendly people. They have a quaint old elevator too which is charming, although we mostly took the stairs. The hotel is very clean. However I had two complaints:... More

Our stay was amazing. Delicious breakfast (various pastries, cereals, toast, cakes etc), free wifi and rooms thoroughly cleaned each day. The reception staff went out of their way to help us - we got extra pillows without hesitation, borrowed some adapters and asked for directions/recommendations numerous times! The room was large and quiet, big bathroom with a powerful shower and... More

We stayed for 3 nights in September during a very hot and humid weekend after a week in Umbria. The room was clean, cool and quiet. We were worried because our room was right off the entrance to the hall at the ancient elevator and at the front of the building, but the room was very quiet. The wifi connection... More

had a 5 night stay here in October.lovely quiet room with a huge well equipped bathroom, a lovely power shower. Breakfast was made special by the good coffee served by a very lovely older gentleman. Great location, central to everywhere. Very good restaurants in the same street.

We've just returned from a long weekend in Italy. We came in from Pisa by train to Roma Termini and walked the mile to this hotel - braving the seriously scary pedestrian road crossings of Rome. I'm not sure that had I not had satnav on my phone I would have found it. Make sure you make a note of... More

This was our second stay at Hotel Artorius for three days at the end of a three-week Italy trip. The hotel is clean, comfortable and classy. Breakfasts are sufficient, but spare. We noticed that some details in our room needed attention, e.g. torn fabric on one wall, missing clothesline in bath. Overall, our experience was satisfactory especially the attentiveness of... Have just returned from 5 days in Roma, staying at Hotel Artorius and can only recommend it on every level. First of all, it was easy to book on the hotel's own website and the taxi transfer from the airport was efficiently pre-arranged by the hotel via email before travelling - and trust me unless you are totally cash-strapped get... We were delighted with our stay at Hotel Artorius, from the friendly family greeting to the quiet, clean and comfortable room. Double glazing and air conditioning made for a good nights sleep. Breakfast was simple but delicious, with great coffee. Alessandro and his family were always welcoming and helpful. The location on via del Boschetto was within easy distance of... More

A lovely place to stay in the center of Rome near the Coliseum and convenient walking to other attractions. Wonderful friendly staff. The prettiest room and the most beautiful bathroom I've seen in a while. Fabulous shower. Nice breakfast with great cappuccino. We were told it was easy walking from the train station, but if you have luggage, and have... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
