Stayed here for 3 nights, 2 minute walk from Roma termini station which is ideal for the Metro links and a lot of sights are within walking distance. I don't normally review places I've been but felt this warranted one. Perhaps I'm expecting too much for Rome city centre? But feel it's reasonable to expect a clean room and bathroom.... More

The hotel was OK, clean and on a good location. Its in the centre of Rome, very close to Termini station, 15 minutes of walk from the Colosseum. There are a lot of nice restaurants nearby. The staff was very polite and helpful. I didnt have any complaints.

Pros: Good location: very close to Termini station and you can walk to many places from the hotel. Although I didn't feel very safe (as a young girl alone) walking around the area at night. Big room: I had a small double bed and 2 singles in a little room next door, although it wouldn't be practical for a family/... More

Hotel Marsala is literally a few steps away from the Terravision bus stop that goes to both Fiumicino and Ciampino airports. It is ideal if you are arriving very late at night, or departing on a very early flight. It has 24hrs reception. Whilst the area is not the best (I would avoid it if you are a girl on... More

We booked into this hotel for four nights as it was conveniently located near the Termini Station, handy for our planned trips out of Rome. We arrived at 11 am and were told that check in couldn't happen until 1 and that was fair enough. Luigi, the receptionist, kindly allowed us to put our bags into the room before it... More

I stayed in the hotel for a couple of days - I was a bit terrified beforehand when reading all the comments here. However I don't agree with most of them. Our room was clean (as clean as hotel rooms usually are...) We had our own shower, but no private toilet. Shared bathrooms were pretty clean, and there were no... More

Reading the reviews I'd like to make some points. This is obviously not that luxury hotel. It's a simple one. In some cases you share the bathrooms like I did (the crew keeps them clean but some guests are messy) but it has got a good bed and is really a good price. I like the location the most because... We booked there sort of short-notice after our flight was cancelled and, honestly, I was not asking for anything spectacular, but what we got was waaaaay worse than anything I'd expect. Ended up paying nearly double to have (like many people here) a room with private bathroom. Needless to say it was a waste of money: the shower was ether... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
