Comfortable bed, nice bathroom, in the center of everything. It's very easy to get anywhere from this hotel. We also had a very small balcony which turned out to have the most stunning view that overlooked Termini Station and basically the whole city. It was incredible. Breakfast is basic, but fair. All in all, we'd probably come back! The only... More

I stayed here for one night back in Feb '11. the owner (cant remember her name) was a very sweet Italian woman. She knew i wasn't able to communicate with her. tho once she showed me my room, she automatically turned on the tv to an American channel (i think it was MTV?). the area is very close (1.5-2 blocks)... Stayed at this hotel April 2013.Had booked it back in December 2012 and was a bit concerned when the website disappeared. The hotel is still operating in the same complex as several other hotels .The rooms were clean and tidy ,not over large but adequate for our stay in Rome .It is a short walk to Termini station so is ideal... Affordable, clean, good bed, serviceable bathroom, nice a/c, really close to Termini station. Owners are friendly but you'll need to practice your Italian with them. Considering that we paid 3x for "fancy" hotels around the corner and received poorer service and sleep quality, this place ranks pretty high on my list. Beware the tiny lift only goes to one floor... Albergo Lucia, is a good place to stay. Rooms with air conditioning and private bathroom. Very clean, with kind and helpful owner! Really near to metro station, train station and many buses. Very good for some days in Rome with friends!!!

I was sort of dreading staying at this guest house based on the pictures I had seen online. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how clean the room was. Given that it is not stylish, and furnished cheaply, it was actually quite pleasant staying here. You really won't complain with the price. Our towels were changed daily. Bathroom was small,... Albergo Lucia was just perfect! You get for what you paid for. We had a double room with a private bathroom. The owner is a nice man and he was very helpful when we asked information about activities to do in rome. The room was clean and nice. It is situated near the termini so it is perfect to move... Compact, functional and no frills, it's ideal if you want a room to sleep in a place that has excellent connectivity to different parts of Rome. It's proximity to Termini station is its USP especially if you've planning on catching a train to other parts of Italy. Be prepared to use sign language with the friendly lady who attends to... I often stay in this hotel, and recommend it to family and friends. If you get a room with shared bath, the price is in the youth hostel range, for a comfortable hotel with elevator and air conditioning. I usually opt for the private bath. Once my daughter and I reserved a shared-bath room, and the proprietor upgraded us free,... More

This hotel was perfect for me. I just needed something that was really close to Termini and something reasonably priced. It is less than a five minute walk from the train station and was pretty easy to find, which was nice since I didn't arrive in Rome until very late. Tony was nice and showed me to a cute single... Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
