Michele and Cinzia are hospitable, courteous, helpful beyond belief! This is a historic building, 5 minutes from the Pantheon, in a perfect location for exploring Rome. Value for money is exceptional: abundant extras (coffee, water, etc) are offered at no extra cost and we were given several presents. Michele and Cinzia helped us to see sights that would ordinarily be... More

Having arrived early morning on a long haul flight from Australia Michele and Cinzia were very accommodating in getting our room ready for us to freshen up. We had a lovely stay here and were made to feel very welcome, the owners and staff couldn't have done more to make our stay comfortable. Michele's knowledge and enthusiasm for his native... More

A great place to stay in, convenient location - right in the city centre. Opposite to the ruins - just amazing for the tourist. A few cafés around for breakfast, some restaurants in a walking distance. In Rome you tend to cover many kms by walking, so the massage chair in the room was just perfect for relaxing. The room... Room was charming - with great local flavor. View wasn't great, but was interesting - interior of courtyard. Was very exciting to enter the hotel each time, as we entered the old palazzo through huge brass doors. We appreciated the built-in exercise of climbing the steps to the Main level. The location was great - walking to almost everything. The... More

Michele and Cinzia were wonderful hosts and I cannot thank them enough for their gracious hospitality. Their pensione is charming and well located but they did not rest on the laurels of a great accommodation, they went ABOVE and BEYOND to help us navigate the area and provide some great local knowledge and hidden treats. I will definitely be back... More

If you want to feel at home in Rome, this is the place to be. It starts with the warm greeting upon arrival from Michele and Cinzia. It continues with their ever pleasant and present care and concern for your Rome experience. It exceeds anything one could hope for--and truly, it is your wants and desires Michele tunes into so... Service, information, location, charm, amenities, reasonable price - Pensione Barrett has it all. Owners Michele and Cinzia are extremely proud of their wonderful city; and they impart information on things to do and see not available in guidebooks - on good restaurants throughout the city, small beautiful piazzas, and much more. Centrally located in Largo Argentina square, the hotel is... More

The first day we were there, Michele insisted that my girlfriend and I sat down with him, which was a little unnerving at first, undeniably. We then talked for almost an hour about the area, touristy and non-touristy things to see, the history, and much more, and it turned out to be a highlight of our trip. His annotated map... More

This was a gem of a find, not only for its central location and magnificent views over the ancient ruins of Torre Argentina, but also for its value for money, charming hospitality and wonderful little "extras" that you would be hard pushed to find in any hotel. My friend and I stayed for two nights, 29th-30th September, and we knew... More

Last week we visited Rome for the first time. The trip was unforgettable. We stayed at the Hotel Pension Barrett for 7 days and was able comfortable walk everywhere from its location. Piazza Navona – 5 minutes, Pantheon – 2 minutes, Coliseum – 15 min and it took us 30 minutes to walk to the Vatican. We only used public... More

Staying in Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori

Neighborhood Profile
Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori
With three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a five-minute walk of each other, the Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and most picturesque area of the city. Join the beautiful throngs hanging out in cafes, boutiques, art galleries, and wine bars, or peek at a neighborhood museum or monument. If you want nonstop movida, the streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa drivers, street vendors, merchants, and locals. There is no rhyme or reason to its winding streets and there's something to see around every corner, so take pleasure in a spontaneous wander.
