If you can manage a couple of flights of stairs, this is an excellent choice close to Campo di Fiore, Piazza Navone, and only about 20 minutes' walk from Forum/Colosseum. There's just enough space to sidle around all the amenities in your room: back and foot massager (soooo needed after tromping around Rome all day), minibar, coffeemaker, milk whipper, toaster... What makes Pensione Barrett so wonderful are the owners and location. This is a family owned place for generations and it is obvious they take great pride in providing their guests with a comfortable, safe and hospitable stay. Owners bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable when in the hotel and well informed while out. Our room was... More

My husband and I recently stayed here early October. The location is excellent- armed with a good map, you are walking distance from the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Trastevere district, the Vatican, lots of churches, great restaurants, coffee bars and just wonderful other walks- you are just so central. We felt very welcome and in a very friendly and cosy environment. Well... More

This place is in the center of everything and you will feel right away plunged into a very baroque, roman atmosphere.......the rooms are extraordinary, very kitch but very comfortable. The owners and staff are very helpful, just ask them anything, they will give you very practical advise, like a mini tourist office right there at the reception. We had 2... More

We loved the Hotel Pensione Barrett primarily for the great price (for Rome) and its excellent location. We were centrally located to nearly everything we wanted to see. Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, etc. were all in walking distance (if you don't mind a bit of a hike), and we were in the center of it all.... More

I am very late in posting this, but we were in Rome in September of 2012. (I had to put November, 2013 in but it wasn't that date). I found the hotel on Trip Advisor and the reviews were wonderful. It was everything everyone said it would be. Michael gave us a chance to get settled in and we came... More

We had a wonderful time at the Hotel Barrett. Location is excellent and the staff are very helpful. The bonus is all the information and expertise provided by Michael the owner. He sat down with us for 30 minutes when we arrived and discussed what our plans were and made several excellent recommendations. When we checked out, Michael was not... More

I had the most amazing stay at the Hotel Pensione Barrett. I love this place! It is beautiful, kept spotlessly clean, in a fantastic location, and I had a wonderful view of the ruins from my room window. But the best thing about this hotel is the owners and staff. Everyone is extremely friendly and every time I came back... More

It was our second time staying at Pensione Barrett and it was as nice as the first visit. The rooms are decorated in italy-style, are clean and cosy. Not too big though but it didn't really bother us. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. There is no breakfast included but the minibar and coffee are extremely moderately priced. The... More

Dear Michele and Cinzia, my husband and I would like to let you know how much we enjoyed the experience of staying in your hotel last week. And what a truly wonderful experience it was! We have stayed in many hotels - in Rome, Florence, Paris, Venice and your hotel was unquestionably our favourite and by far the best. The... More
