I read all the reviews before choosing this hotel and it was exactly as everyone had described. Michel and Cinzia were welcoming and friendly. You can tell Michel takes pride in his home city as he is eager to share with you all the sights on your map. It was within walking distance of the Colisseum and Pantheon as well... More

This unique little pensione in the heart of Rome was perfect for our 5 day trip to Rome. Michele, his wife and staff were incredibly kind and helpful, recommending places to see, trattorias, transportation options, etc.. Our room was small but delightful with comfort devises available like a jacuzzi shower and foot and back massager which felt wonderful after a... More

My husband & I just returned from 12 days in Italy. We stayed in the Hotel Pensione Barrett for our first 3 nights. We can't recommend this place highly enough! From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we were treated like royalty. The staff couldn't do enough for us: changing our room, teaching me how to... More

We have never stayed in such a unique hotel ! The Pensione Barrett is very well located and surprisingly affordable. The rooms are clean, quiet, and decorated in an over-the-top Baroque style which is tasteful, artistic and fun. The owners and their staff went out of their way, every day, to ensure that we had the best Roman holiday. The... More

Ticked all the boxes! Central, easy to find, simple to check in. The owners and staff went out of their way to book restaurants, attractions and transport for us. Every morning they had lots of suggestions for places to see. The room itself was decorated in a charming traditional Roman style, which really set the scene for our holiday. The... More

We stayed here for 4 nights in mid June thanks to the great reviews in here. In summary I would highly recommend. The location is great; right near the Piazza Navona and Pantheon also near the Jewish Ghetto which was terrific and near some beautiful churches. Bus stops out the front as well as taxi's. The rooms are very unique.... More

Folks, we are at a loss for words... read the reviews in all their raves... theyre true and accurate. We could not, in any of the traveller's books consulted, find a pensione that is so centrally located at such an affordable price... but that is just part of what you get... the other part is the wordly knowledgeable Michael and... This lovely hotel overlooks a plaza with a beautiful view of incredible Roman ruins. The building itself is 4th century with modern conveniences, yet a distinct historical feel to it. The proprietors, Michele and Cinzia Sacco, made us feel totally at home and were available at all hours with great suggestions and warm hospitality. We had only a very short... More

Stayed 3 days at Pensione Barrett. Easy walking distance to many historical sites of interest. As other reviewers mentioned, the hotel is on the second floor, with no elevator. However, a hotel staff member graciously meets you downstairs to assist with your luggage. The owner was a wealth of valuable information on things to see and do. He divided the... More

Just spent 4 days at Pensione Barrett. Very pleasant stay at a real good price. Located on the second floor of an apartment building off the Largo Torre Argentina, the location can't be beat. The Campo di Fiori, old Ghetto, Piazza Navona, Trastevere are all immediately accessible. Multiple bus lines and trams stop right on the square and basically get... More

Staying in Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori

Neighborhood Profile
Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori
With three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a five-minute walk of each other, the Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and most picturesque area of the city. Join the beautiful throngs hanging out in cafes, boutiques, art galleries, and wine bars, or peek at a neighborhood museum or monument. If you want nonstop movida, the streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa drivers, street vendors, merchants, and locals. There is no rhyme or reason to its winding streets and there's something to see around every corner, so take pleasure in a spontaneous wander.
