Overlooking the ruins of the Largo di Torre Argentina, with its lobby up the stairs and an interior decor that can best be described as theatrically Roman, the Pensione Barrett is unlike any other hotel in Rome. Owners Michele and Cinzia have an encyclopedic knowledge of the city, and they are eager to share it. They know its art, architecture,... More

Our stay with Michael and Ciznia was wonderful. They could not have been nicer or more accommodating. They gave us fantastic suggestions that we would never have found in any guide book. The complimentary bottle of wine was a lovely touch. The mini-fridge was stocked with everything we could possibly want and the room had every amenity including comfy slippers.

We can't think of staying in any other hotel when we're in Rome. The owners will do their best to make sure you enjoy your stay. Since we've been in Rome before and have seen all the major tourist attractions, they suggested other wonderful and less-well known sites that were only open one day a week. The food and snacks... My husband and I stayed here during a visit to Rome. It was the perfect ending to a month-long trip through Europe: the owners are just absolutely lovely, and super-helpful. Our room was massive, had a fabulous view of the ruins, and came with a spa shower, foot massage and shiatsu massage chair. There were in-room breakfast, tea and coffee... More

What a quirky yet warm and fun experience we had when staying at the Pensione Barrett. I still chuckle at some of the surreal and goofy experiences we had, which all added to an amazing holiday in Rome! As you may have read with the other reviewers comments, we were treated with a superb level of generosity and kindness by... More

Located in the heart of Rome and close to everything, operated by an eldery couple, extremely friendly and knowledgeable about Roman culture. Rooms overwhelmingly decorated with small statues and ancient replica, very charming

We had the most wonderful stay at Pensione Barrett. Michele and his wife are the most lovely people! They gave us detailed and brilliant recommendations and treated us like we were part of the family. The room was clean and perfect. The decor is just great and all adds to the atmosphere. The breakfast options were vast and I particularly... More

We stayed here for 4 nights and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The owners of the hotel treat you like family and every single suggestion they gave us was incredible. Rooms are quirky, but super clean and wonderful overall. We would highly recommend this location and this hotel. A perfect place to stay and right on... More

Neighborhood Profile
Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori
With three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a five-minute walk of each other, the Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and most picturesque area of the city. If you want nonstop movida, the streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa drivers, street vendors, merchants, and locals.
