I had to go to Rome for business for 1 month and I stood at Residence Candia. I hated it from the very first moment I entered the room. The smell from the bathroom was horrible and the room it is incredibly small. The shower cabin it is 50x50 cm .The cleaning is very poor and the internet access it... More

The price was definitely right here, and the location can't be beat! We walked about three minutes from our door to meet our tour of the Vatican, and there are lots and lots of places to eat nearby. Yu can walk to anything you want to see-- the Hop-on, Hop-Off Bus terminal is about a ten minute walk, and it... More

The rooms are regular big city size! No complaints there. The people are extremely nice & give excellent service. A location you can't beat! You are right next to a metro stop and next to the vatican.

I enjoyed my stay at Residence Candia while in Rome. The location is excellent with many food services and tourist opportunities only a short walk from the residence. Additionally, the Metro station is a 2 minute walk from the front door. My only recommendation is to bring ear plugs as the road outside the hotel is quite busy and there... More

Our trip to Rome was not helped by the fact that our agency did not send notification of our booking to the hotel. We were then escorted to a room the size and atmosphere of a small cellar with no window. The bed filled up most of the room and was located next to the loo. The room itself was... More

What's not to love about this hotel? It's very close to the Vatican as well as metro lines. There is a really great patio that has a retractable awning for breakfast on rainy mornings, and the staff is so very nice! My room had a lovely little kitchenette, and a very nice bathroom in addition to two beds and some... More

Staying at the Residence is not cheap but the cost is normal for Rome. Unlike many similarly-priced hotels in Rome, however, it *does* actually provide great value! The room-apartment we rented had 2 massive fully-furnished double bedrooms (with quirky wall-sized mirrors behind the bed!), two large bathrooms (one en-suite), a small living room and a kitchen with oven, fridge, kettle,... We booked one of the suite/appartment, which didn't look like the pictures, it was small without any living room area and a tiny shower which even I being petite had problems. Regardless that it was clean, kitchen fully equipped, good size bedroom, comfortable bed and air conditioner. Close to Vatican Museum, supermarkets , metro y to the best Gelateria 'old... More

The rating may be very good but depending which room you have...I was here in april 2013, I booked 2 rooms but when we arrive we get 2 very very small rooms (10 mp) but after a discussion with receptionist, we moved in 2 very nice rooms. Kichinette, clean, nice terrace on the roof and very close to Vatican.

Residence Candia will always have a place in my heart. I stayed there for 3 weeks while I was studying abroad. I didn't know anyone when i first arrived, but I quickly felt welcomed. The rooms are ideal for learning how to immerse yourself into Italian culture. There is (at least for me) a room in the back with beds... More
