Overall this maybe good value in Rome where everything is expensive but I was disappointed. The curtains and nets needed a good clean, you needed to be a contortionist to shave your legs in the shower as it was so small and little or no effort was made for breakfast. Having to pay cash was a pain also albeit it... more

I was travelling with my husband, my best friend and her 14 y. o. daughter. We had 2 rooms and we were all very comfortable. This is the best place in Rome and surprisingly inexpensive! The location is the best surprise. It's 2 blocks from the Cipro subway; hop on the subway and you can get ANYWERE in Rome in... more

i agree with the other reviewers, i'm not sure that you can find a better value in rome. the location was awesome - just a short walk to the vatican and the metro station. i wasn't in love with the decor of the room (a little too many flowers and ruffles) but it was very comfortable and clean. breakfast was... more

Pros: * Giordano was there to meet us, even though we were later than expected in arriving. We had lots of questions about Rome, which he went the extra mile to answer. He gave us directions and showed us where (on the map) to catch the bus, etc. He is a really friendly, helpful guy. * Nicely decorated room. Definitely... more

I am not sure you can find a better value accommodation in Rome. This B&B looks like it used to be an apartment that was converted to a B&B. It is located in the Prati neighborhood, in a residential apartment building. You will certainly feel like a local here. It is a 10 minute walk from the Cipro-Musei Vaticani station,... more

My sister and I had a most pleasant stay in Rome due in part to knowing that we had The Laocoonte to come home to each evening. The owner was most helpful on arrival, having kept an eye out for us - giving our estimated time of arrival was a good idea. We were very close to transport and it... more

Only five minutes walk from Metro and Vatican, with quite a few grocery stores and restaurants around. Super super convenient. Room was small, but cozy. Bathroom was nice. Free wireless Internet. Decent breakfast. Lucy (or Juicy?) will bring food to your room and serve during 8-10. Quiet location, on the first floor of residence buiding. Owner is very willing to... more

We were able to access our room before the normal check-in time and were met with a friendly greeting- map, advice re restaurants etc. It has easy access to tourist sites, with metro, bus 492, and Vatican museums nearby! Our room (No 2) was very clean and well proportioned with a few steps up to an ensuite which had a... more

We stayed at Laocoonte for 6 nights in October. The place is quite conveniently situated (just 2 mins from the metro and other means of public transport, Vatican Musems cca 5 min on foot, St Peter's Square cca 10 mins etc.) It is well worth buying a 7-day ticket (for just 16 €) and use the excellent public transport system... more

We stayed for 6 days at the Laocoonte and it was wonderful. We had read many good reviews before traveling there and they were all true! It is indeed very well situated, clean, renovated, comfortable, and the hosts Giordano and Hiromi were very kind and helpful as well. We would definitely go back! For those of you who are planning... more
