This B&B is situated reasonably close to Rome Termini station. Top floor (with lift). Comfortable bed good clean room and bathroom. Breakfast was a mix of continental and Italian. Keep the contact number handy in case there is no reply to the bell. 4 restaurants at the corner of the street - all good. Easy walk to Coliseum and the... More

Great value and for the price, one can't really complain. Located a ten minute walk from the termini station, so pretty central and whilst not the most salubrious of areas, it felt safe, as indeed the whole of Rome does. The landlady was very helpful and friendly, and the room was large and clean. My room was slightly noisy from... More

Let me start off with this, ATTN: This B&B has no reception, and you have to e-mail them a rough estimate on when you'll be at the place. If you need a landmark, it's behind Radisson Blu if you're coming from Roma Termini station. It's a nice B&B with a pretty so-so location. The surrounding might be a bit shady,... More

I had a great experience at Al Gran Veliero. The room was normal and what you would expect for the price. Not bad at all. The breakfast wasn't bad either. Again, what you would expect. The location is great. Just a 5 minute walk from the Roma Termini station and the Vittorio Emanuele metro stop. I know some people have... More

This B&B is often classed as a backpackers stay.......... I would beg to differ both my Husband & I are in our 50s and would highly recommend it to couples of any age. We stayed for 7 nights. The location is excellent 20 minute walk from the Termini and Colosseum. 10 mins from 2 metro stops and supermarket. Numerous cafes... More

The manager of the place Serena was really nice - she called me two days before I was supposed to check in to confirm my reservation and when we were not at the b&b at the time of check in (as we were a bit lost finding the place), she called and confirmed that we were in the right direction.... It's a very nice place to stay and in a good price. The service was convinient and it's located just a few metres from a metro station and it is near to the monuments. We had no problem with check in even though we were not in time, but we let them know first. In conclusion, it worthes the money.

I had no problems checking in. I understood from prior reasearch that most B&B's in Rome operate the service of notifying when you will turn up and there will be someone there to check you in and answer any questions. Room was lovely, everything was in working order and staff were friendly - especially Serena who sent me a text... More

The place is more or less unattended - you tell them when you plan to show up and they have someone around then to take your money and copy your passport - so if you need anything you're on your own, but it's very clean, quiet despite being near termini (new windows and a few floors up helps), well located,... The worst experience ever!!!! I made a last minute booking for 2 nights and I paid 20% of deposit at the time of reservation. Upon arrival, a woman - I assume she was the owner or a manager - told me the room that was supposed to be mine had got a broken toilet so that she could not let... More
