My husband and I enjoyed a weeklong stay at Buonanotte Garibaldi in October 2014. It was his first visit to the Eternal City, my second, and we wanted a quiet, neighborhood home base from which we could explore the city on foot. What we got from Luisa and David and the rest of the lovely staff at Buonanotte Garibaldi exceeded... More

An oasis of peace and exquisite taste in Trastevere. The kindness of the welcome and the fact that there are only three rooms makes you realize very fast how privileged you are to stay there. Worth noting also that owner/hostess Luisa L. is a great silk painting artist, and that for those thus inclined, there are also beautiful textiles and... More

This perfect B&B is in a great location - right on the edge of Trastevere and within easy walking distance to lots of the major sites. The B&B itself is lovely - very stylish, good sized and immaculate rooms, and has a small courtyard garden. It is surprisingly quiet considering the location and is home to Luisa and her team... Location is great! Walking distance from major attractions and also "out of the city" at Trasteveri. Clean and quiet. Very nice people working at hotel. It is like a home in Rome. ........................................................

First review I have written for Trip Adviser. This place is perfect. A truly unique way to enjoy Rome. Perfect location...idyllic...quiet and peaceful. Outside is one of the city's funnest districts. And it is close to the Vatican and Old City. The hostess is kind and the house lovely and perfectly kept. The service was impeccable. If you want a... More

Amazing place with a great team. The check in was easy and quick, the service was perfect. Being abroad and feeling at home. The neighborhood is the coolest place in Rome, beautiful area with great bars & restaurants. Many thanks to David that took we'll care of us. Will see you soon for sure.

The four beautifully-appointed suites at Buonanotte Garibaldi B&B are just the beginning of a wonderful lodging experience. The proprietor, Luisa, and her staff are the most attentive and gracious of hosts. We had some logistical problems in our travels and they went above and beyond what is the norm in this setting. The location, in a quiet street in Trastevere... More

Best b&b in Rome. I've been here many times during my roman business trips. Clean, cozy and relaxing atmosphere, just a few steps away from the main venues. Managed by a very nice and talented italian artist, Luisa Longo. She draws her amazing silks enriching the whole space and will let you feel at home. Really suggested!

It does not get any better. Perfect place to be in Rome that is not touristy. It is similar to being in a private villa in town. Only 3 marvelous rooms in the B&B and they are all tastefully decorated. Louisa, her son, and David all make sure all your needs are provided for. Louisa asked us the first day... More

Good welcome, very friendly and helpful Luisa and son and David. We eventually used all three rooms as we were using this at the beginning of our tour and at the end. All the rooms are small, tastefully decorated, comfortable bed, small but well equipped bathroom, gowns provided. The ground floor rooms are rather dark as the only window is... More

Dear Mr/Mrs obbor, thank you for your kind review. I would like to clarify, in order to avoid any future misunderstandings, regarding the overnight tax law of Rome. From the 1st of September 2014 the overnight tax will be 3,5 euros per night per person. Will be asked to anyone staying in every overnight accommodation inside Rome’s boundaries. The fee,... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
