It's really well located, but the hotel itself is a really simple hotel. Considering price and that you're in Rome, you get what you pay for. You have breakfast, which is simple, but does the trick!!!

We booked a room for few day last September 2014. The hotel has an excellent location and it is not far for Republic Square and the metro station. Good value for the price. Please improve breakfast. :-)

The hotel was a pretty nice place to stay. Although kind of hard to find, because it's a hotel, inside a hotel kind of thing. But the staff is very friendly. And help you around the city with maps&bus routes pretty much anything you ask. The bed sheets could have been a little bit nicer and the pillows could've been... More

You have to go thruogh a gate and in to a backyard and take the elevator to the third floor in order to find this very small, cozy and nice hotel. The staff are very welcoming and service-minded. Our room was neat and clean and the room was nicely cleaned every day. At first glance, this hotel might seem very... More

My husband and I have just returned from a 3 night stay in Hotel Galatea. It was very simple to reach from Fiuminco; airport bus to Termini and then a 25 minute walk. The neighbourhood is Monti, and this hotel is perfectly placed for major sight seeing. It's located on 3rd floor of a residential building and the floor that... More

I like the hotel in general, is very close for termini station and about 10/15 min from Colosseum. The room was good with electronic safe and free wi fi with good signal.. The receptionists are very pleasant and help us as soon as we arrive the indicate where are the main attractions. In my opinion the worst is the breakfast,... More

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Galatea. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms (we had two, one for our 17 year old son) were clean and comfortable. There was some road noise but the hotel is close to the via Nazionale so that wasn't unexpected. The advantage of its location is that it is close to... More

This hotel was disgusting. I really cannot understand why people are giving it 5 out of 5. We read existing reviews before booking and were confident that we had found a good hotel. However, the reality and what we found were very different. Below is the good and bad points we found at the hotel. Hopefully this will help others... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
