Well, the room that we stayed was very dark, the walls were orange, I really like the colour, but it didn't work in the room. There were few lights, and the color makes the room seems more dark. I particulary don't like this kind of room. The location is good, but I found odd the building. The breakfast were very... More

This hotel is situated right in the middle of central Rome, but in a small and calm street and - by the way - close to good restaurants of all kinds. The staff is very friendly and helpfull, the room and the hotel as a whole is very well equipped, nice and clean. I stayed there one week with my... More

I had read the reviews of this hotel and looked at Google Street view of the route to it from the train station so our arrival here was no drama. The hotel is located on the 3rd floor of a residential building and is entered though a large gate into a courtyard, I thought this was pretty cool, I travel... More

This is the second time we have stayed at the Galatea. The hotel is in a fantastic location, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. You are only a few steps away from a great shopping street, and a 10 min walk will get you to the Spanish steps. Will definitely be going back.

I stayed here in mid December and it was excellent, especially considering the price. The hotel is very clean and set in a pleasant area, just off a busy street with lots of clothes shops, and opposite a very reasonable wine shop. The staff were friendly and helpful, offering to hold our bags for us after check out whilst we... More

We stayed here over new year 2014 and found this hotel and it's staff friendly and is in an excellent location. Loads of shops nearby and is walking distance to the majority of tourist spots. Price was also good. Breakfast was lovely too and sets you up for the morning.

Just spent 5 nights here for Christmas. The hotel is in an excellent location to walk to all main attractions within 15-20 minutes, on a quiet safe street. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is fine and sets you up for a day of walking. Rooms are quiet and comfortable and you get a free safe and free wifi... More

Helpful and friendly staff. They also offered us to leave our baggage there on our last day after check out as our flight was in the evening and we wanted to spend the afternoon out. Room was nice and clean with modern bathroom. Just one thing would be worth improving and that's making a wider breakfast selection as there are... More

The Hotel is definitely well rated...starwise and by visitors. The location is very good, and the price is also very competitive. Things that could be improved...breakfast. Not an amazing selection. Coffee, croissants, toast, cereal, bread and butter. I would add some fruit to it...but as you can see... I am getty picky ;) From here you can walk pretty much... More

Just a block off the Via Nazional is the Hotel Galetea. Easy to access sights and restaurants this 2nd level three star hotel is basic but has quiet rooms, good front desk service, breakfast and a number of restaurants in the surrounding blocks. Wifi was free but best accessed from common breakfast area.

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
