This hotel is very hard to find as it is located behind two massive wooden doors that open into a very dark courtyard you must pass through to find the building where the hotel is located. Then you take a lift to the third floor to the front desk. Just the average small Italian hotel room. Very basic but not... More

The rooms are clean, open wifi works everywhere in hotel, personal are nice and works professional! The breakfast is delicious. Locaton is very comfortable, more interesting places are near the hotel. The railway stations and subway in several minutes way from the Galatea hotel.

I can't say that's the best hotel I've ever visited, but it has such advantages as: good service ( very polite, well english speaking guys), the hotel is very close to main city sites!, a lot of good restaurants 5 minutes away, very decent breakfast! I am satisfied! Rome is very beautiful and the pice for the night is rather... More

Place is a hidden gem. Took a while to find it, you have to enter a main big wooden door to get to the courtyard to get to the central building that has the flight of stairs or a tiny elevator. We were greeted warmly and shown us the room which had a cosy ambience. Wasn't really big but we... More

Stayed in this hotel for 5 nights August 2015 by myself. Staff were so friendly, offering advice on how to get to certain places. Walkable to most places, as is very close to Colosseum but to get to the Vatican, would be better to use the Metro. Metro stop very nearby at Piazza Repubblica. Room was bright and comfortable and... Location is perfect and easy to find; rooms are not big but enough for a couple and comfortable; staff is very helpful; clean; very close to must-to see-places. From Republica to Vatican, it is only 5 stops by metro. it was a bit hard to connect to wifi inside the room; breakfast need some improvement, maybe boiled or scrambled egg... More

They don't allow you to take room key with you. On our first return, a different man than the one who attended us at first place, gave us the room key just asking for the number. We complained and said please to request identification in order to give our room key to anyone. This has happened three times with three... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
