Although we managed to walk straight past the entrance, it is on an easy to find street. Very close to the Spanish Steps, Trevi fountain and all the other major sights. This is a cheap, basic and simple hotel, don't expect anything else. The breakfast was simple. If your looking for a cheap hotel, that is still close to all... more

I've traveled before in Europe, so I wasn't expecting a spacious hotel. But, I was expecting to find the amenities as advertised by the hotel. The first day I arrived, I couldn't get the AC or the TV to work. The TV wasn't critical, but the AC was. After repeated trips to reception to ask for help, I was told... more

Had a double room booked at Hotel Doge due to its location and that really liked the look of the rooms on any websites on the internet. When we checked in, instead of a double we were allocated a triple room (with 3 single beds, not even 1 double + 1 single). We cut cut the thick/heavy smoke in the... more

Very close to everything! But a strange place. Though: Hotels in Rome are expensive and this was after all a good choise for us. Close to Spanish Steps and Trevi. more

Hotel Doge is otherwise known as Firenze Palace. The entrance is through a small corridor, which is unlike traditional hotels. The elevator is indeed small, and I think one side of the building houses private apartments, but the hotel section and our room were a pleasant surprise. We stayed at room# 302. It was a pretty decent size room by... more

The hotel is in the same street as the spanish steps. It is just a few mins away from the metro, thus if you are looking for a bugdet holiday, it is in a central location where one is able to walk to all the central parts of rome. The room on first impression is not very nice, however the... more

The only thing good about this hotel is the location. Close to everything ... Spanish Steps just at the end of the street and Trevi Fountain, Pantheon etc just a 5-10 minute walk. Room very small and basic. Shower tiny. Elevator tiny. I can live with that but I had trouble with Housekeeping leaving the keys to all the rooms... more

The entrance to the hotel doesn't look very nice and you have to go up the stairs or take a very strange little elevator to go to your room, but the room we stayed in was just lovely. It was a double room, very clean and new. A large bathroom, and even a private balcony. The location is also perfect... more

We just returned from a week long stay at the Doge in Rome. It was terrific. The staff was super friendly and extremely helpful. Our room and bath were very very clean and fresh sheets/towels/soaps/shampoos/ were always provided. The delightful breakfast was delivered everyday by a cheerful person. There is some remodeling in the hallways and what looked like some... more

I must say first of all that I had to stay in Doge. My wife joined a group of Italian learning students from Greece, (including the teachers,an Italian from Bologna and his Greek girlfriend). As a group, they managed to get good prices in their destinations(Venezia,Firenze and finally Rome-doge hotel). The plan was to join them in Rome. The result was to stay... more
