after reading mixed reviews, very pleased with this modest hotel in central location.stayed four nights in warm comfortable room, everything worked! breakfasts were generous especially if you liked cake, with cereal, rusks and croissants as well. good tea and coffee. pick ups to and from the airport were well worth while, reliable and efficient. expect warm blankets, no duvets. staff were... As a single traveller, I found the price and the location of this hotel more than suitable for my stay in Rome. It is not 5 star luxury - but I was very aware of that when booking. It is a great location from which to walk and enjoy much that Rome has to offer. The staff is very friendly... More

This hotel is only suitable for people looking for cheap accommodation in a reasonable area. The steps and decor in the entrance is very poor but the reception staff were very helpful in checking my travel arrangements due to disruption in Rome. If you like finery don't stay here. The rooms are no frills but they did offer to upgrade... More

We stayed in Doge Hotel last spring for 4 nights. The building is very old and could have been better maintained especially in the commonly used areas (corridors, reception and breakfast place). The room was clean and comfortable, could have been better decorated and maintained. But it was adequate for the purpose of our visit, just wanted a room to... More

I had this booked as my last stop on a perfect Italy vacation and when I arrived, I literally cried. First off the Hotel Doge is located about 80 steps up from the street. There is NO elevator/lift. As I climbed the stairs, through my tears I saw mold on walls, paint peeling off and the odor was like that... More

This hotel was our first stop in Rome, it was daunting, but the city itself more than makes up for any downsides of your hotel. The room was quite small but good enough for sleeping, and Internet was available which to me is essential. After all you really only need to sleep, shower and access internet in your room.. The... This is the first time I have written a negative review as I try to see the positive in things whilst I'm on holiday! We firstly where confused on arrival as this hotel is also named Hotel Firenze. When we arrived we walked up an awful staircase, which looked as if we where inside an abandoned building, it was not... More

I stayd in this hotel 1-4.4. Rooms are pretty small, debence are you travelling alone or with friend. I travelled alone, and I had to change bigger room, it was so small. Room change was not a problem. Rooms are however clean (sheets, towels). Staff is very friendly and they speak good english. Breakfast was like in Italy, croisant with... More

We had an internal room for the 3 nights stay for our 20th anniversary. It had everything you would want (except a kettle) including a hairdryer. The shower gel and soap was replaced daily and towels also changed daily and the shower was good and hot. We had 3 good nights sleep in a clean bed. The location was perfect... More

Truly awful hotel. The facilities were a disgrace and the staff were plain rude with no customer service skills what so ever. My wife and I had the misfortune to book into this hotel for a couple of days during our honeymoon. The location really doesn't make up for the poor quality of this hotel and they must have dowloaded... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
