We stayed with Lovely Laura for 3 nights who was extremely helpful and kind. Her home is original, beautifully decorated and well maintained and it smelt so good. The scent of the soap she puts in the bathrooms is gorgeous. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. The Aldebaran is very conveniently situated to visit the wonderful sites in Rome. We... We stayed with Laura for 6 days and feel we saw a bit of the real Rome by staying in a B&B. Laura is a very gracious and busy lady. Her daughter Emma is lovely and Milo the kitty is one quiet kitty. As this is a home, we were required to remove our shoes at the entrance or wear... More

We have just returned from a fabulous stay with Laura at the Aldebaran B&B. A fantastic 4 days. Our room was wonderful-light and airy, beautiful roof terrace to use when we wanted and delicious breakfasts every morning. Nothing was too much trouble for Laura- she even tried her best to teach us Italian. We would not hesitate to recommend to... More

Last October me and my GF were desperate after our flight from Sicily was 3 hours late and we've lost the connection to Finland. In the airport I tried to call all the friend I knew in Rome but no luck. Luckily we've found this place and Laura told accepted our booking at 8pm. Once we got there she was... More

My wife and I stayed with Laura in Rome for our first stop on our honeymoon. This was the first trip out of North America for both of us and we were a little nervous of the unknown. The next time we go to Rome, we will stay here again. Laura allayed any nerves we had. Here house was immaculate... More

Stayed here with a friend on both ends of our trip to cycle Tuscan wine region. Laura was a gracious host offering suggestions and maps to tour Rome, navigate the metro, places to eat, etc. Delicious breakfast in her cozy dining area complete with cappuccino. Nice roof top patio for a glass of wine plus small kitchenette upstairs too. Really... More

We loved Laura, her cats, and the great location of her B and B. I would highly recommend her place. We liked the room, location, closeness to the train, and cafés/shops. Laura helped us with recommendations and reservations.

Stayed here for part of our honeymoon and returned on our 5 year anniversary. Comfortable room and nice breakfast prepared by Laura - homemade tirimisu delicious. Laura is happy to chat and give information on where to visit, how to get there etc and is very friendly and welcoming. The only negative, the shower door in our room didn't fit... More

We spent 4 nights at Aldebaran B&B and would definitively come back! Laura, the host, is absolutely charming and ready to help with everything. We really enjoyed chatting with her in Italian and English (which she speaks wonderfully), she really made us feel comfy and at home. The room was fairly big, nicely furnished and even had a safe. The... More

A fantastic hotel and hostess that lives up to previous reviews. The entire hotel was incredibly clean, and the morning cappuccino pure bliss. This being our first time to Rome, being given a map, tips, and advice as to how to spend our weekend made our trip fantastically unforgettable.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
