Trastevere, where this B&B is located, is a characterful old quarter of Rome and a short bus ride from the historical centre of the city. It is enormously convenient to have a bus stop just 100 metres from Il Boom. The place itself is a luxury spacious two storey apartment at the top of a 1930s luxury apartment building --... More

Il Boom is situated in a beautiful apartment, and offers an amazingly friendly and helpful service, conveniently located. Breakfast is found in a separate dining room, where you help yourself to juice, cereals, breads and cakes, and if the weather allows you can eat outside on the terrace. My one note of caution is that the rooms that face the... More

Many thanks for your very good review! Living in the center of a big city has some constraints, and the noise due to the traffic is the most usual. We have worked to minimize it, but unfortunately it's not always possible to eliminate it. I will try to find again a best solution. Thanks anyway. More

My family (2 adults, 2 children), had a great stay at Il Boom. Angelo was a wonderful host, helping us confirm our tours, set up taxis and provide recommendations. We also appreciated the great breakfast spread every morning. The room we were in at the front of the apartment did stay a little loud at night with the traffic, but... More

Very good area just above the best night atmosphere in Rome (Trastevere). Few Minutes walk to bus station but the center can be reached easily by foot. The house and the apartments are wide and clean and beautifuly decorated. The all day open dining room with variety of foods and excellent coffee is very good idea which together with the... More

Great location in Trastevere. The B&B is located on the top floor of a small, historic apartment complex. Interesting decor and lots of period details, high ceilings and good lighting. Views from the breakfast room and a nice terrace overlooking the city. Angelo is a very good host and is forthcoming with suggestions. At ~120 euro per night (off season),... More

Amazing service at the Boom.. Angelo gave us a great welcome. He was full of information, he gave us a lot of information about restaurants and how to go around Rome. The place is located in a residential area in Trastevere, we found it very safe and and its a 30 min walk to go to Colosseum,or to the Vatican.... More

Absolutely everything about our stay was very enjoyable: the decoration, the view, the location, the quality of the breakfast, the hot tub and especially the warm welcome from Angelo. We can't imagine anyone being disappointed by booking a room and we can only highly recommended it. Thank you.

A very interesting and unique B&B in Trastevere area in Rome - a nice and quiet neighborhood. Though the B&B was located at the 3rd (?) floor, we were treated to a wonderful and pleasant surprise when we saw the rooms, bathrooms, breakfast area, balcony with a great view of Rome, the ambiance and the gracious and helpful host Angelo.... Il Bom was the perfect home base. We were within a 25-30minute walk of most sights...away from the hustle and bustle of Rome. There is the option of buses if you prefer not to walk. We also used UBER twice. Our room was perfect and Il Boom has 2 lovely terraces overlooking the city. Angelo was so helpful and arranged... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
