The B&B Il Boom is a great place to stay when you come to Rome. You find yourself back into the 50's and everything is tastefully decorated. A jukebox and pinball machine are examples of what you will find at Il Boom. The bedrooms are dedicated to famous Italian actresses and the roofterrace is very nice to enjoy a romantic... More

We spent two nights at Il Boom at the start of a week long stay in Italy. The location is great for exploring Trastevere without being in the noisy heart of the area, and for getting into central Rome via bus or tram. The only thing about the location I would say is, if you're travelling from the airport, ask... More

Fantastic Place in Trastevere, we really liked Il Boom in every way, comfortable and interesting. So we will come back! The room and the view was Beautiful and the location was nice. You can take the bus just outside the house down to the city and you walk down the hill or stairs and you have many restaurants to choose... More

Il boom is an amazing place, everything we were looking and hoping for for the first part of our honeymoon in Italy. So unique, quirky, full of character and style but on top of that, Angelo is fantastic and could not be more helpful if he tried, providing information on all the tourist spots, public transport, how best to reach... Il Boom has great decoration and a warm welcome. Breakfast and generally chilling out on the roof terrace were an unexpected pleasure. It's conveniently close to cafes and restaurants of Trastevere, but a relaxing distance from the really touristy, busy centro. Strolling over the Tiber or the Gianicolo hill to explore Rome and see the sights was perfect for me... More

I had a fantastic stay at Il Boom B&B and highly recommend it. The room and bathroom were beautiful, lots of character and nice view of the city. It is located in a convenient area of Trastevere, yet, on a residential street hence it was quiet. The breakfast on the terrasse was a highlight of my stay in Rome!

This place was quite majestic and beautiful! It feels a lot like a home away from home and very tranquil in a quiet neighborhood. There are many gorgeous places to walk around the area. A few churches and a fountain that overlooks all of Rome. This place is unique in its own right. There is a bit of Americana in... More

The owner, Angelo, makes sure that you feel home away from home upon arrival by thoroughly explaining all the important facts about Rome: location, means of transportation available at the vecinity of the B&B, places that are within walking distance, etc. The rooms are perfect, well decorated, the AC works fine and the bathroom is fine too. All common areas... More

It has been said that all roads lead to Rome. If your road does and you are looking for a first-rate B&B, then consider booking at Il Boom. Located in Trastevere, a lovely neighborhood removed from the maddening crowd, Il Boom is perched on a hill that is high enough to offer an expansive view from the rooftop patio (which,... More

The B&B is located at a strategic position especially for those who chose to visit Rome by walk. The rooms, the breakfast area and the balcony are full of charm and Angelo is an attentive and solicitous host. I doubt there is a better value for money in the Centro Storico

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
