Great location, really adorable little hotel, that you wouldn't even notice walking by. A beautiful door leads you into a cozy hall where you are greeted with a warm reception. A vintage elevator (that I couldn't get enough of!) takes you to your room, and that's where the charm really kicks in. Beautifully decorated, new rooms, comfy beds, and gorgeously... More

Located just blocks from Roma Termini and within about a 30 minute maximum walking distance of most central Rome attractions, excluding the Vatican. Beware of professional pickpockets near and around Roma Termini. The hotel is directly across the street from the Teatro Dell Opera and otherwise not easy to find as there is not the usual hotel name sign (see... More

Conveniently located. Clean. Nice staff. We stayed 3 nights in late April 2015. Hotel has a convenient old fashioned elevator. Hotel is in a multi use building across the street from the opera house. The photo posted by the hotel is the opera NOT the hotel! Otherwise as advertised.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights at the end of April 2015, and it was perfect for us. It is very close to Termini (only a couple of minutes walk), and it is also very well located to reach all of the historic sights within the city by foot (if you don't mind a bit of walking). If... More

Al Viminale is in an ideal location for taking in all the sights of the city. The function of the hotel is that it is divided across several floors in a single building shared with other businesses/residencies, thus giving it an authentic Roman "feel". The staff are friendly and helpful. You won't get much of a view, but most people... More

We stayed in Rome for four nights and overall this hotel was great. Close to the station and opposite the opera house yet there was no noise at night. The room was compact but had everything you needed right at your fingertips- plug sockets and switches at your bed- with the biggest tv and fab shower too. Also had communal... More

I loved the hi tech features in bathroom, rich renovated rooms and great beds. Pity no decent coffee in communal kitchen and fridge in room didn't work. Also wi fi was spotty and complicated as it was through the hotel' s website. The location is convenient for Termini and walking or taking buses, with several lines stopping nearby.

I stayed here for 5 nights and there was not much to fault with this hotel. It was within walking distance to a number of sights and not far from the main station and metro. The hotel was a little tricky to find, there's only a small plaque next to some big doors that gives it away. We nearly walked... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
