This little hotel was recommended by local Roman and international colleagues. What a marvellous recommendation. This boutique hotel is only 400m from the main train station (Termini), and close to every attraction. Via Nazionale and Via del Corso, main shopping streets are only a couple of minutes away. Even though it is handy to Termini, the immediate surrounding area is... More

Remembering our visit in late October in Rome I cannot keep under silence the hotel AlViminale Hill. Is situated vis a vis of Opera House and at walking distance from Termini and few of major sites. The rooms are small (no fridge inside), but are causy and clean. The building has an old elevator which send you back in time.... More

Stayed a week and loved it. Room was comfortable and enough space for 2 women. Had large closets and a small fridge. Beds were comfy enough and housekeeping kept the room clean and tidy. The front desk guys were helpful through the entire process. Short walk to termini and many restaurants in immediate area. A small grocery store is on... More

A good hotel 10 minutes walk from Termini. We eventually found the huge door which took us a while as we were looking for an actual hotel front and not a big wooden door. Very friendly staff who showed us to the two rooms we had booked 101 and 501 in a lift that was very old but very efficient... More

We had a bit of a difficulty looking for this hotel as the signage was small and on a wall of the hotel itself. The hotel is actually facing the front part of the Opera Theater but because the sign was on the wall of the hotel building we walked quite a distance round and around the area lugging around... The hotel is full of wonderful surprises...starting with its main door until you reach the room. Amazingly maintained rooms in very old building with old time wooden elevator. Its worth the money spent.

Al Viminale Inn was very central when we stayed in Rome. It was a 5 minute walk from the Termini - which is the central transport point. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. They provided us with a very useful map of Rome and a voucher to get a free small pizza each from a little takeaway nearby.... More

Great hotel hidden away in the centre of Rome. Staff were very helpful and friendly. After being greeted we were wary of the old fashioned wooden lift, however it works as it should and was a bit of a novelty. Rooms were large, clean with a very large TV, DVD player, Air-con and a very Modern double sink bathroom with... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
