Clean, basic hotel with a great location to the Vatican. The breakfast included was ample and great start to the day of sight seeing. Bathrooms were small and showers very small. Twin beds very comfortable. Free WiF. I enjoyed there were no TV's in the rooms.

This small hotel is located really in 5 minutes walk from Vatican. Nice breakfast, coffee machine on the 1-st floor, small rooms with tiny shower cabin: if your weight is more than 60 kg - no chances! The tiniest shower cabin in the World! :) Quite near is a bus station - 2 minutes walk up the road. Small pizza... More

This hotel is located in a central area, it's the best with it. And it has free, good functioning WiFi in the rooms. Everything else is rather basic: small rooms, tiny bathroom (the tiniest shower I've ever seen), simple breakfast and staff which showed little interest and communication. Noisy, religious meetings nearby, little noise-isolation between the rooms, and pictures on... More

Considering the prices practiced in Rome, this hotel was a real catch! Very well located, near Vaticano (5 min walk), also walkable from the train station, had enough conditions for a four night stay in the magnificent city. The rooms are basic but clean. For pragmatic tourists :)

My stay here was lovely. Rooms are big, clean and very cozy. It has a roman feel to its decor. Breakfast was filing and we had lots of choices. The pizzeria near by serves amazing food. Amazingly , I did not struggle a bit to search for a vegetarian food around. It is 5 mins walk to the Vatican. Metro... More

A friend and I were interrailing and chose this hotel to stay for a couple of days in Rome and were really impressed. The room was spacious and comfortable - exactly what we needed. The staff were charming and spoke really good English (if they couldn't, they gave it a go!) - we felt so bad for not making the... More

For its location this really is an excellent choice. Its a mere 7 minute walk to the Vatican, and close to a train station. But what really impressed me about this hotel was the friendliness of the staff, they were helpful and informative, and very obliging when we asked them for advice and directions around this fantastic city. The breakfast... More

This was my sixth stay at Casa Santa Maria and it remains excellent overall value. The location if your wanting to visit the Vatican and surrounds would have to be up there with the best. Other terrific areas such as Trastevere are just a brisk twenty minute walk away. Public transport is readily available very nearby. Arrival from Rome's international... More

I stayed there for 2 nights (but not in a row) in April and May 2014. It is literally 5 min away from the Vatican and very convenient for anyone who is planning to visit the Vatican and Rome. If you walk to the end of the street you'll find the terminal station of San Pietro and the bus 64... More

Yes, this place has a great location near St. Peter's, and it has a decent breakfast, but it is lacking in other qualities. We were expecting a spartan room, but not the mold that went along with it. Our shower was black with mold and there was a 2 inch strip of black mold under the window ledge. The hall... More
