Quaint hotel, but its best feature is being so close to the Vatican. The location was so convenient for the few days we spent in Rome. The rooms were very tiny, but for the amount of time we actually spent in the room it was great!

This was our second stay and again, we were not disappointed. This place was made for pilgrims rather than tourists and therefore it is fairly modest but adequate nonetheless. Rooms are furnished sparsely, we had a twin bedroom which consisted of a large wardrobe, desk, mirror and chair plus telephone. Please bear in mind there is no TV or radio... More

After an initial bit of difficulty finding this hotel, we discovered it was a short distance to Saint Peter's Square and the Vatican. The rooms were a bit worn and small, but the cost was so affordable, it was fine. The shower and bathroom are small, but I am not tiny and fit fine. The wifi was sometimes a bit... More

Great option for visiting Rome. Simple rooms, and few amenities, but great location and reasonable price. Excellent breakfast as well. Recommend if you will be out all day visiting the sights. I don't recommend if you want to spend a lot of time relaxing in your room.

Simply furnished but clean, comfortable, helpful staff, excellent breakfast and great location when visiting the Vatican. Prices are very affordable and nearby there are plenty of restaurants and shops. Would be being picky to find fault and only slight criticism is that sound proofing between rooms could be better but only a minor niggle.

It's a place in poor state and feels somehow cold. The furniture and the overall impression are very poor if not shabby. Breakfast was terrible. Everywhere are religious paraphernalia. The room was very, very tiny and the bathroom even more so. Staff was grumpy and not friendly at all. It's not a good place to stay when in Rome and... More

This place served as our base for 5 days in Rome. Great location. We saved some money by taking the train behind the building (Roma-S. Pietro) to Termini-1 euro each. Great way to get to the Colosseum. Just check the schedule for times. Also, just down the street, on Via delle Fornaci, is a Carrafour Food store. They have everything... More

The location is marvellous if you're going to visit the Vatican and surrounds, there are a few good restaurants and cafes in the neighbourhood too. Public transport to Termini, while slow and crowded is regular and affordable. But what I love about Casa Santia Maria alle Fornaci is that it's clean, quiet and the service kind and polite. The airconditioning... More
