It's pretty unfortunate to have to write a review like this however, you should know before you book or really is best to book somewhere else. This guest house is nothing more than a run down, terribly managed hostel. You get what you pay for so to speak as I learned by booking here. They get you to book for... More

Be very careful if you book here - you may end up with no room! We had filled in the reservation form on the website and it emailed us the information we'd entered - we assumed this was the confirmation of our room. We get to Rome at 6:30pm, only half an hour after the estimated time we had to... More

The Monti House does not pretend to be a luxury hotel but it is a pleasant, comfortable and affordable place to stay in a very good location - a short walk to the Colosseum and in a quiet but attractive back street with good value restaurants and some small shops. My friend and I booked a three night stay. Unfortunately,... More

Monti Guest house in Rome is located in a good part of Rome, but that is far as it goes, with this Well over expensive guest house, We paid 110Euro, my Sister paid 50Euro for the same type room. There are better and cheaper in close proximity. The photos on the website do not resemble the actually rooms. The room... More

Monti Guest House is located in a lovely area in close proximity to the colosseum and Roman Forum. However the location is the only positive attribute. The room we stayed in did not even closely resemble the photo on their website. The room was poorly maintained and the bathroom was covered in mould (thick mould that protruded from the grout... Had one night booked here with my wife and never got to stay, we showed up and they told our guide they were over booked but they had made other arrangements without checking with us first. The other arrangements were absolutely reiculous, very poor hotel and like I said they never asked us! We will never book with Monti house... More

We are a 30 year old couple, from New York, but have lived in Germany for nearly 1 year now. We booked this room for it's price and location. We have no regrets. The rooms are small as are the bathrooms. But, for this price we were excited to have a private bathroom! Regarding the size of the room, who... More

We stayed at the Monti guest house for 3 nights. We stayed in the Romantic suite on the top floor. It was plenty big enough with a double bed, small table with two chairs, ensuite bathroom & a private roof terrace just for our use leading off the bedroom. The roof terrace was the main aspect to this room that... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
