Arrived at this hotel around 9.30 pm after a lot of confusion due to our taxi dropping us a few doors down and someone's flat also called porta pia! Anyway, the hotel was very satisfactory .. Clean, quiet and nice beds and shower. I think the location is nice if you don't mind a short walk to the nearest metro.... More

This hotel is a reasonably priced alternative for Rome and is an excellent value. The rooms were good sized, the breakfast was typical european and the onsite patio bar was charming with nice large drinks. The front staff was charming, informative and loved to joke with me about things like the best gelato in Rome. A couple of blocks from... More

No signage to indicate what floor you need to go to when the door opens, nowhere near a subway! we booked a non smoking twin room and were horrified at the stench in our room (number 9) and cigarette burns on curtains. A public toilet was next to this room and there was all the usual toilet noise/smell. Broken toilet... More

Pluses: The personnel was really nice, funny and helpful The place itself is in the apartment building with old elevator which is an interesting experience All rooms were clean and tidy It's walkable to all touristic places - 1 hour walk max Minuses: The tear and wear is really quite big, but it doesn't irritate, except for the window that... My wife and I stayed at Porta Pia in June'15 for around 7 days. The place is a no frills budget hotel which is located closeby to several excellent eateries. Travel by foot or by public transport should not be a problem as Rome is very accesible in every way. Marco, Luca, Shahid and Matheau were very helpful and friendly.... More

The staff was very nice and really eager to help. The rooms were clean and altogether very good value for money. Location is great, really close to Termini station. The old style elevator was just extra experience.

Porta pia rooms look like they do on their site pictures, rooms were nice however i found the location to be a bit far from nearest station(castro pretorius/nomentana), bus station closer but we prefer metro. In addtion difficult to find place at first (fortunately we had taken airport shuttle) The staff prompt at answering emails as they are there forma... More

We stayed 5 nights. Room simple and very clean. Excellent location: you are literally walking distance from centre of Rome! For British tourist: 2 min from British Embassy. Hotel staff VERY helpful. Several nice restaurants nearby. Laundry/ dry cleaning services: downstairs.

Room was very large and clean. Staff were all very friendly, and eager to help in any way they could. Even though I did not purchase the breakfast offered at the hotel, the staff would prepare cappuccino's when asked. They were reasonably priced and delicious! It is nothing fancy but a safe, secure, clean hotel in a good area of... More
